When Paisley Park was at its peak, he had 10 full time staff in the wardrobe department making clothes for him, the band (Revolution, New Power Generation, etc) and anyone else he wanted.

It all beggars belief, does it not?

Quite like to admire, often with some envy, at the homes, mansions & estates of the super-rich celebs.

As such, I was a little taken aback to see the home of "Prince" (as in TAFKAP at one time), where, sadly, he died this week.

Most odd looking, as these things go, & not in the least bit attractive.

What I think it is, is a recording studio and music factory with living accomodation constructed around it; he was far more interested in the product than some art-for-art's-sake rock-star mansion a la Michael Jackson.

Yeah, think that's what I read somewhere yesterday.

I thought what a horrible house, and then read it was more like his HQ.

Yes, it was sort of dual purpose. Even so, very odd looking, a house that looks like a factory. Financially, a bad investment, I would have thought. Not much of a market for such a property.

I wonder what young children make of the expression "music factory"?

Can we assume you were a Prince fan, Mr S? Somehow I think you would be, you do tend to go for weirdos such as Prince and Hendrix.

Not a huge fan in truth although I did like some of his songs, especially "When Doves Cry".

I didn't ever purchase one of his albums but certainly played some of his stuff for the customers in my bartending days in Tel-Aviv during the 1980's.

I laughed along with everyone else when he became TAFKAP.

In tragic news, British Home Stores - latterly BHS - are likely to go into Administration this morning.

Where are we going to buy our lampshades from now?

Poundland or a charity shop if your town is anything like Plymouth. But you will be able to win the cost in one of the many bookeis FOBT's that are in abundance.

Our High Streets have changed beyond recognition in the last 10 or 20 years.

These days it seems to be 'phone shops, bookies, coffee shops & eateries.

Those old High Street Chains all seem to have disappeared.

I walked past a bhs in Edinburgh city centre yday on one of my rare voyages into the old school retail environment as I never go old school shopping any more.  Was pretty easy to easy why they are going busto compared to their rivals without even going into the shop just by walking past it.  Looks so 1990s from outside.  Got all the bankroll and location advantages and they still fall behind the times just like lolbrokes and hills, the whole world has changed beyond belief in ten years. The guys who didn't believe it would who used to be monopolies are now dying through arrogance in numerous sectors,

Before I reply to those questions, a quickie on the World Snooker.

The coverage is just superb, snooker, especially Best of 25 & up, makes for really good TV.

Both BBC & Eurosport are giving it loads of airtime. I'm not mad on Hazel Irvine, or John Virgo, & so generally watch on Eurosport. The Eurosport pundits are Jimmy White & Neal Foulds, a rather weak pairing as it happens, though I just prefer to watch the games rather than listen to the waffle clichés from the pundits. Jimmy's face is really puffy now, reminiscent of an over indulgence on alcohol I suspect.

Anyway, Ronnie departed the scene last night, always a shame, at his best he is like nobody else, ever. His concentration was erratic though, he should never have lost to Hawkins, but fair play to Hawkins for hanging in there. Was really good to see Ronnie big up Hawkins afterwards too - very gracious & genuine, I thought.

Ronnie was wearing a patch, "ROS147.com", which intrigued me, so I took a look.

http://ros147.com/

All clear? Gawd knows what that is about, but Ronnie's chest is prime real estate for a patch, so there must be money in it somewhere.

A quick search of google images suggests Ronnie wears a different parch almost every time he plays. Wonder what he charges to display a sponsors patch, anyone know?

Do you think this story is true?

If so, how did the dog manage to find it's way home?
