You can thank Harvey Keitel for that scene and pretty much most of the film; Tarantino somehow got the script to him, Keitel decided he wanted to be involved, others followed, the budget went from $30k to over a million and the rest is history. Had that not happened, Tarantino was gonna shoot it with his fellow video clerk mates using amateur cameras, and Pulp Fiction never would have been born. And neither would have both the Kill Bill films, so its swings and roundabouts really.

I digress, I only came on here to request staking payment details. I assume carrier pigeon is ok? Not sure we have internet banking in Yorkshire yet.

Well I have no idea who Harvey Keitel is, but well done him.

Did you go watch Man City in the CL semi-final thing? How was it? I'm told Yaya weighs more than I do these days. Maybe even as much as you. True, or false?

Bank Deets for the Staking - I'll start sending them out by PM today & tomorrow. Thank you.

On which note, hhy, never mind staking details, you have work to do, after this beauty appeared overnight, & I note you have failed to perform your duty on this one. Fortunately, Jimi Hendriks & Grumpy Paul have deputised for you.

I mean, that's just disgraceful - no need at all for that closing exclamation mark.

Odd that he mentions it is a shadow of it's earlier beginnings - he appears (if Sharky is correct) to have been with Next Door for exactly.....one month.

How can you not like the Kill Bill films? There's such magnificent music and artistry in his work but I think those Kill Bill films do it best.

Would I enjoy them, Tal?

I love Pulp Fiction, but it took me 7 watchings before I fathomed out what order the scenes should have been in.

I still don't understand why they are not in chronological order, but I suppose I like things nice & simple.

I just had to Google 'bagatel'.....I think I'll leave that one alone for now. If he thinks he's seeing perverted outcomes then he's looking at the wrong web pages and sites. You should Google Harvey Keitel. I know you have a soft spot for musicals but that's not his genre, so its understandable you don't know who he is.

I was in Menorca this week so had to settle for a bar over there. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when I'm more mobile than Toure. He could've asked Kolo to lend him some of his wife's slimming pills. I foresee a transfer to Italy or China on the horizon. It's gonna be an exciting summer though, the rumour mill will be working overtime.

Looking forward to reading all about your Vegas exploits.

I watched a documentary about Bryan Ferry last night.

Can you believe he is 70. Seventy.

How can someone still look so cool at 70?

If I could be anyone I wanted in the cool department, I'd be Bryan, with all those wonderful suits he used to wear.

Class act.

You may not agree with his sentiment but it is generally rather nicely written (excepting a couple of typos).  Smiley
Your petty obsession with the use of the exclamation mark appears to blind you to the far more important mis-use of the apostrophe.
You even erroneously inserted one when, presumably, trying to correct him when quoting him - tut, tut.

Kill Bill jumps about a bit, too and the story is spread over the two films.

It's violent but not in the same way as Reservoir Dogs. It's a cartoon-like squirty blood, which is more aligned to the martial arts films this is designed to be like. Getting David Carradine in to be Bill exemplifies that.

He was Caine (famously called Grasshopper") in the Kung Fu series and movie.

I really think the film (split into two because of how much content there was, rather than it being intended as a sequel) is a masterpiece.

Really?? ?

Absolutely.

Let me put it this way - he's not far behind this chap when it comes to being a class act. There can be no higher compliment.

Philip Kives died a couple of weeks ago. Nope, I had not heard of him either.

But most of us knew of his Business. K-tel, who pioneered "infomercials" on TV in the 70's, &, generally, sold huge quantities of dreadful tat.

They then started making compilation albums, using music that was out of copyright, & therefore free to use. K-tel's biggest money earner was, remarkably, "Hooked on Classics". His trick with dozens of other compilation albums was always the same - use out of copyright material, so keep most of the profit. He owns the rights to a good few lyrics too.

K-tel were the first to suss that using the phrase "as seen on tv" was guaranteed - in those days - to stimulate sales.

They shifted some shocking gear just by saying "as seen on TV".
