On Gill's last night here, Thursday, we drove up to Mt C & had a lovely dinner.
It's a beautiful place to have a meal, & we deliberately chose the time of day when the sun was going down. It's lovely up there.

I had fish & chips, Gill had some foreign shite.

Most nights, if we were not doing anything special, we'd eat at Rio Sports Deli. Love it there.
Burger & Chips for Gill, and Vietnamese boiled veg, rice, & stuff on lettuce for me.

Best meal of the trip was on the waterfront at Seattle, as suggested by Bobby1.
I had fish & chips.

Is that Longines and chips with fish on the side?

Doubt it Ralph, never even knew until I googled it that Longines was a food, thought it was a watch. Heard of langoustines though.
Think it was just prime Alaskan Cod.

We visited Pike Place Market in Seattle. Famous tourist attraction, said to be the 31st most visited attraction in the USA.
As a Market, it was nice, but not especially good, no better than many UK street markets. They don't do street markets as such in the USA I suspect, not like we in Europe do.
We were loaded down with bulging rucksacks which never helped, as we had come straight from the Boeing Factory Gift Shop. Boeing drinking glasses, mouse mats, notepads, bookmarks, 2 Boeing baseball caps, t Shirts, Polo Shirts, books & God knows what else. We spent more per minute in there than I did in the 41 minute WSOP.....
Anyway, in the Market, Gill purchased a jar of jelly. (Jelly = jam to Tom, or preserve to Tal or Ralph, cos they are posh), which promptly got confiscated at Seattle Airport as it was deemed to be a liquid. Marv.
What we did learn though is that all the money food manufacturers spend on fancy packaging is wasted. Just present the stuff as it is. How good does this lot look? Bloody expensive though.

Petit fillet mignon is our favourite dinner
Second st grill in the Fremont was the best one this year price wise n taste wise
Charthouse in the nugget a very close second
Golden steer - nice but the most expensive
Silverado at south point was v good too
Last !unusually !triple George grill mainly due to servers attitude n some weird tasting salt rub on the meat 🥩 they obv think is tasty
Best comps n best casino was the southpoint
Best room was a tower suite at the Wynn obv the most expensive too
20 nights in Vegas our costs was £4800 on hotels n meals plus £800 on 2 pe seats plus Tips
Ridiculous amount of fees for using a card in USA 🇺🇸

Just came 6th out of 31 in a £2 Omaha Hi/Lo next door, been meaning to learn the game and thought I might as well start. Haven’t got a clue how I made the final table. Lol.

Good day All,
From the Cosmopolitan just after 5am , i’ve Been awake now for 90 mins whilst Sue and our daughter Emma compete with the dawn chorus, jet lag does get worse as you get older. Spent happy hours reading this thread over many years, and thought why not get involved, so here we are:
We’ve been coming to Vegas since ‘98, our Silver Wedding trip, and have been here most years ever since, bringing family and friends with us many times; but 2010 was the most amazing and emotional trip ever.
After Sue’s
against Swordsyboy’s
and James Hartigan saying “We know where this is going” on 865 in the May final, a few weeks later we were in a suite in the Rio. For 10 fantastic days, full of interviews, 16hr days and 10 hrs solid poker for Sue each of her 5 days in the main event, with me becoming a professional railer, butler and masseuse. Tony and the team from next door helped Sue to believe she could play and take on the best of them, and I have to say she did just that, from losing nearly half her stack in the first 2hrs, to folding Q’s twice in the hand for hand 4 days later. Money cannot buy that sort of experience, and we look back on it and still have to pinch ourselves that it really happened.
We brought Emma to Vegas for her 40th and we will be taking in all that Vegas has to offer and playing a few tournaments on the way, that’s after of course going to the best venue to watch England win this morning. - the Crown and Anchor pub off Tropicana.
Cheers Dave and Sue
