Good luck all still in. Good read.

Most surprising fact? Tikay claims to have played 3 consecutive pots....

good luck tomorrow chaps

couldnt see tikay on seat draw , then noticed he is down as being from " british indian islands " ....

not had time to look anyone up on your tables , but did not recognise any names initially

Given my feeble stack size, the quality of the opponents does not make much difference, if I make a play it'll be pot-pot & they can't outplay me if I'm all-in.

I really let myself down the last 45 minutes, went from 110,000 to 61,500 thanks to weak play. At that stage, with my stack, it should be fold or pot, but I called 3 times & had to let go each time.

I'm such a twat. What am I?

Anyway, FWIW, here's my table today.

And this is where the Tourney resumes... (Image copied immediately after play finished last night, hence "Start in 11 hours" etc).

i see the levels are longer now , i have no idea at all about  rules in the mixed games , do you have a bit of time to get dealt something decent , or is it spin up very quickly?

either way best of luck to both of you later on

Yes, 1 hour levels now.

However, it's 8 handed (at best) so the blinds come round with undue haste.

There are 3 games, 2 of which are Pot Limit (PLO8 & Big O) & 1 is Limit (O8).

In the Pot Limit games the Blinds will start at 1,500-2,500 with a 2,500 Ante, then after 1 level, 1,500-3000/3,000.

In the Limit game they start at 2,500-5,000 & then go 3,000-6,000.

So can't really hang around & wait, have to find a spot before the blinds go through more than once.

Just caught up on the May updates.  Happy retirement Tikay, and I hope you continue to have a blast in Vegas.

Scarily, I now qualify for senior tournaments, which shows how long we've all been hanging around on this forum over the years.

Looking forward to reading the updates.  Good luck to the blondes still standing in the latest tournament.

Amazing, isn't it? Suddenly we are all old & cranky & suffering from assorted maladies, it's like a school reunion xty years on.

I do enjoy it at Vegas time when the blondes come out of hibernation. And I don't have my responsibilities Next Door now, so maybe I can help rev things up a bit.

Glad to see you're enjoying your poker, free from the pressures of a staking consortium behind you waiting for tales of derring do and scoopios.
Myself on the other hand find myself at a loss to where I can play online. As I have an Imac, I can't download the Sky App and the browser version is absolutely Pony. I have accounts with GGpoker and PartyPoker but don't particularly enjoy playing their structure of tournament, the stoopid animations and river card peel(I know I can turn some of them off)really makes me seriously considering stopping playing. I'll probably just start playing sats, for bigger live events and see if I can't get back into live playing which I used to enjoy a lot.
Enough of my moaning, looking forward to the Vegas updates and seeing how your retirement goes. Hopefully catch up at a live table soon.

gg and party are only 2 i play these days , one evening a week and most sundays . the bounty hunter tourneys and the series stuff they always have on gg have huge fields at low stakes with good money up top , there was a $5 that had prize pool of 150k ish last week , $50  1 million gtd etc . the party sats , especially the 16.50 ones have huge overlays regularly and are chock full of really clueless players . yeah should keep quiet but no one reads on here anyway ...

(sorry for derail)

Just caught up with this thread. Had plenty of time-playing 1 of i-pokers EXL series, and I think the re-entry period was the month of May Smiley

2. Sorry that your time at Sky ended the way it did. The site sometimes lacks class. Which is a shame, as it has some wonderful people on it. But move past it-much better to remember the many good times there. Tonight the Main needed 125 entries to break even. It got 79...

Good luck in Vegas

Hi again Phil.

Not gonna lie, I was very upset about it. (For those not in the loop, my access to Sky Poker & it's Community was inadvertently cut off a week before my retirement). But it was nobody's fault as such & was just an accident.

But I know what happened, it was a pure accident, connected with a huge piece of software work they are currently doing on the Tech Stack. (I was banished until post-transition by a filter that temporarily affected financially dormant accounts, of which technically, I was one).

As you know, there was that truly wonderful "goodbye" thread, where over 90 players expressed their views on how I'd gone about my Business, & so it was very very important to me to be able to thank them. It was THE most touching thread I've ever read, I was immensely proud of it, & I planned to print off. It was the greatest character reference any man could wish for.

Anyway, it's history now, we move on. Read the News headlines each morning & there's real pain & grief all around us, so a bit of ego-stroking is of no consequence really.

In answer to the hips, I had my right one done first and it all went well. The first left hip was contaminated with bacteria when it went in and when it was replaced the first time and all washed out they didn't manage to get all the bugs out so we try with this one which has antibiotic cement/concrete in it and we will see how we go. I might need another but hopefully not.

My surgeon had to split my femur lengthways to try to get the inside of the bone washed out as much as possible. It's all held together with screws and military grade ties, the op took 6 hours as he got the saw/whatever they use stuck. Only me huh!

OMG. Way TMI there Shaz.

Anyway, hope it's all behind you now. And don't get into an argument, in case you don't have a leg to stand on.

xx

This was next, a complete change of pace & mood.

I may actually have read it before but it was well worth a re-visit.

Mr Bryson writes about as well as anyone imo, & his range of adjectives in particular is unrivalled.

Highly recommended.

Ashley Walters has just released his autobiography. As reading lists go it should be Top. Boy it’s good.

Wishing you a happy retirement and an enjoyable Vegas trip.

Oh wow, even The Mantis is in the (Summer) House. Congrats on spotting the references. Oh, & thank you.

How's the new (2 years now?) marriage working out. Mrs Mantis got you under control?

Still managing that Golf Club in the Midlands?

I'll return to Top Boy shortly. Simply the best TV Series I've ever seen. Sopranos, BB, BCS, all excellent but Top Boy was different level.

Ashley Walters bio? Yes, I'll get that, thank you. He was not my favourite character in the Series, but in real life I know he's had quite a life, much of it on the wrong side of the street. Now he's a proud father (two daughters?) & a caring husband & has a nice little place on the coast, Herne Bay I think. I do love it when folks who have gotten their lives in a mess - crime, drugs, whatever - straighten themselves up.

Stick aqround Big Man, we're gonna need you.
