A quick "good luck" message to animalpoker (aka Rob Price) who, minutes ago, had a Top 10 stack in the WSOP O8/Stud thing.
The thing with Rob is that he has a super aggro style, so he's never far from doubling or busting.
This screenshot from the WSOP+ jobbie was a bit ago, but he WhatsApp'd me minutes ago & was on 660k. He had a bruising loss with Queens full to Kings full but since then has got right back into it.
Thx mate
Managed to bag 930k which was the highest I’d been all day taking a nice pot of Gus Hansen at the end in O8. Hellmuth joined our table for the last hour too
Was fun , time to rest up and hopefully go deep at the business end tomorrow 1pm restart (8pm uk time)
Well done Rob.
I can't load it on WSOP+ at present, but here's the Top 10 of the memaining 27 according to Poker News;
1 Tobias Hausen Germany 2,005,000 25
2 Shirley Rosario United States 1,745,000 21
3 Jason Daly United States 1,660,000 20
4 Christopher Claassen United States 1,420,000 17
5 William Flachsbart United States 1,240,000 15
6 Benny Glaser United Kingdom 1,115,000 13
7 Ryan Hughes United States 940,000 11
8 Robert Price United Kingdom 930,000 11
9 Brian Rast United States 760,000 9
10 Gary Benson Australia 730,000 9
And your Table Draw...
626 2 Jon Kyte Norway 305,000 3
626 3 Lynda Tran United States 240,000 3
626 4 Ryan Hughes United States 940,000 11
626 6 Alexander Orlov Russia 435,000 5
626 7 Patrick Stacey United States 185,000 2
626 8 Robert Price United Kingdom 930,000 11
Thanks
Played with 3 of them quite a bit yesterday
The short stacks will make for a fast dynamic with more luck as well as the huge blinds
10/10/40/80 stud
And 20/40 40/80 O8
Redraw at 24 left anyways I think , also no phones after that point I believe , I’ve used music a fair bit in this tournament so might miss it a bit , determined to not replace that with alcohol though . I’m actually dry for 3 of the last 4 days . Slept well considering how excited I am . Restart in 3 hours , off out to get food shortly and probably stock the fridge with something for dinner too .
all the best for today, what a great opportunity, glgl

Yay, Glenda's back.
Get your Countdown pupil to post so we've got someone other than Tom and Boo to take the piss out of.

Morning.
Radio Silence the last week or so, just so much happening.
I really enjoy writing, & with my work obligations now in the bin, I have the time to maybe write a little more. I like writing.
Replies & comments always welcome - in fact they help - but I'm not overly fussed. If anyone wants to get arsey, I'll ignore. Obviously, I'll ignore Dereham Meh Bloke, Fat Vinni & Red as they are of no import.
It goes without saying it'll mostly be boring, but IDGAF.
I'll start with some prompts to myself, before I forget....

I should also add that age is pertinent to everything I do now, it gives context. So rather than keep saying "it's an age thing", I'll just write "A".
And for the record, I'm 77, which definitely gives context (excuses) to everything I do.
Weird thing with age. As a child, we always add a bit. If we are 6, we say "6 & three quarters" or "I'll be 7 next month".
In our middle years we try to knock a few years off. Vanity, I suppose.
Then once we arrive at dotage (OED describes dotage as
"the period of life in which a person is old and weak"
) we do the opposite, & ADD years. So I tend to say "I'll be 78 in 2 months time", or, even better, in two months I'll start my 79th year".
It's a mind thing. Maybe boasting? Maybe making excuses for being shite at most things. I don't really know, but I fancy that most people of my age think along those lines.
e.g,. "I did OK in Vegas for my age", or "I'm shite at golf but not bad considering my age" & so on.
In truth, I don't know why I/we do it, but most of us do.

Retirement, & what it means. It's HUGE to me, a 100% lifestyle change, as I'll try to explain.
Vegas 2025 summary.
Service Levels
Paris
The Hermes shock experience.
Golf.
The elephant in the room.
Ooh, forgot a very important one.
EDIT - Addictions. Very very big one that. For almost everyone that reads this, as well as me.
EDIT - forgot another one. BOOKS.
Think that's enough for starters, in fact if I get through that lot I'll be very pleased with myself. It may take a few days as I don't do "rush" any more, (A) & I have things to do every day. Because that's the plan.

Unlike your physique, your looks, your dress-sense and your libido, (I'm guessing about the last one) Your writing has definitely improved with age.
OK. I'm all out of compliments. Get on with it.

I've added an extra prompt - "addictions", some of which we all have, but I'm just bothered about mine.
