What do you do when?..........

OK, it's a Live Tourney. Not  big one, just a £75 Freeze. The atmo is cool & relaxed, everyone's there to enjoy themselves. We wanna cash, but really, it's just a good night in good company, playing poker with like-minded people.

But Mr Drunken-Bore is on the table. Can't play to save his life, but thinks he's God's gift to poker & everything else. He has a mountain of chips, & we are delighted, because we'll get them all sooner or later - we just will, he's hopeless. These are the guys who allow us to play lots of poker, we dream of having D-B on our table, with chips.

But set against that, his boorish behaviour is driving everyone mad.

Whenever it's him to act, he's not ready. "So, you are the Small, & you are the Big" he repeats every time, pointing at the blinds sitting in front of Small & Big. (He's a bright lad). "And everyone else has Passed. OK, let's have a look. Hmm, I'll Pass".

And when he DOES act, it's a three act play. "So, how much is it to go? 400? 400? I think I'll Raise. There's the call, 400. Now, let's see. Hmm, err, I'll Raise......(30 second wait for theatrical effect), err......2,000. I'm not messing about - honest, I'll show, I've got it."  Drone, drone, drone.

And he knows what EVERYONE is holding. "Small pair eh?, I got you on a small pair". (Oppo shows Q-Q),. "Yup, had you on Queens".

I got involved, with A-6 on an A-K-6 flop, it's Raise & re-raise. After 2 minutes of mind-numbing speech-play, he Passes, showing A-2. "I think we were chopping it" he says, declining to call all-in, & proudly tabling his hand.

He finds A-A, & makes a bog-standard pot-sized bet. Mr Short Staxck calls all-in with 7-7, & gets busted. "See how I trapped him with my over-bet, he thought I was bluiffing". Followed, bizarrely, by "how could the idiot call, what did he think I had, 6-6?".

Aanyway, the red wine takes hold more & more, & he's completely rat-arsed, & we are all helping ourselves to great dollops of his stack. He's Chip-Daddy 14 out, & busts 9th, on the worst play you ever saw in your life. "Yup, put you on Aces" he says after calling Mr Rockety Rock Rock all-in with A-Ten.

The thing is, we all benefitted fom his chips. But we were all out of our mind with his non-stop boorish behaviour, he was as pissed as a fart. Tighty offered to rent out his i-Pod, & the bidding reached £60.

Whast's the answer when guys like this do their drunken act & ruin everyone's evening? Bering in mind, he's easy meat, & we can live off him.

I suppose it's too much to expect a Cardroom to actually ask a player to leave because he's pissed & ruining the game for everyone, you know my thoughts on how badly we run the game in the UK. Set against which, I suppose it's a small price to pay to have some easy chips to pillage. But on balance, I think players who are pissed, & spoiling the game for everyone else, should be penalised. Nothing too extreme mind.  Castration, or hanging, even castration by hanging, is plenty.

Sarcasm? Moi? Irony Kev, irony.

I don't really have an issue with Unlicensed venues, though I think we shouild have a level playing field, & it's surreal that Rob Yong has spent £3 or £4 million to stay right side of the law, & cannot trade, yet the Unlicensed Venues continue to trade openly.

I mean, what was the point of the new GC powers if they don't use them? CAN we all open Cardrooms tomorrow in the confident knowledge that we can do whatever we want? If Rob - who HAS got GC Consent, fails in the Appeal, he may as well just open the DTD doors right away. THEN what will the GC do? I repeat, Unlicensed is OK by me, but I'm really curious as to what the GC are there for. Gutshot were successfully prosecuted. They still trade, & good luck to them. But what exactly was the point of the Prosecution if they turn a blind eye & do nothing after wining the case?

What a fine mess we have got poker in.

Maybe it was all a cunning marketing exercise to raise the price of ipod rentals!

Not the best business scheme i have ever seen the guy drank more in red wine than he could raise in i-pod rentals  i think the casino actuall made more out of him in the bar than through roulette last night and every night that he is in

Don't be silly. Tighty would never Pass A-2 these days.

His Exit last night was a bit odd, & I think he was playing the player, not the hand.

He's ahead from the start with A-4 v J-3 on this flop & turn, & there's been much betting & re-raising.....

  Two Clubs

The river pairs the J..... for  Two Clubs .....

And Tighty's A-4 has been rivered by J-3 man. Very unlucky, but a helluva call by the man alleged to be Mr Rockity Rock Rock. A bad call, too, what was he beating, but as I say, he was playing the player, who was a serial bluffer. My point is, beware of Tighty, this was a call for his Tourney, & he had a big stack at the time. Tighty is a Rock? Not no more. He's become a very accomplished player, imho, & he's do well at any level of the game, & I'm quite sure he turns a nice profit in the up to £250 sector.

How did you end up last night Jim?

Jim was MASSIVE chipped early doors, but in one horror 5 minutes lost almost the lot in 2 hands, & was down to the very felt. In fact, I shoulda killed him off when he moved & I held A-5, but I was a bit thin on chips myself & could not pull the trigger.

But he gradually worked his way back, & eventually was above average, just, with 6 of us left. Then he tripled up in bish-bash-bosh style when blonde hans47 (Andrew Hannah) made a move on the Button for 45k with  , I called in the SB with J-J, (leaving just 5k behind), & Jim pushed in the BB with  . Spectacular stuff, Andrew & I busted, & Jim became new Chip-Daddy to complete a spectacular comeback.

Andrew Hannah (hhans47) endeared himself to the Luton regulars with a fine display of poker, &  lovely attitude. Top bloke him. He's the Ice-Hockey Pro chappie.

That pot took me to 200k   at that point mick went crazy and moved allin about 8 hands in row  doubling up the shortstack once and damon to a chip lead equalling 200k

mick now down to 48k pushes again i call with qj from the bb but not good enough against his 98  he then knocks out the short stack so the 3 of us agree on a straight chop and £1500 each iinto the coffers

So what started out as a really annoying last 2/3  tables having to listen and put up with drunken-idiot  he then blew up in the 2nd final running ended up being a really enjoyable final 8

The drunk was so annoying that Tikay even said he was enjoying the live singer and wnated the music turned up   words im sure were never heard before and will never be heard again   he even got comped for a free breakfast it was hard to get a drink last night as all the valets were fighting over him

Me to drop-dead stunning East European nubile Valet.

"I love you".

She..."Really?".

Off she toddled, never to be seen again.
