Oh dear, my apologies.
And yes, it got a bit personal - though nice personal, & fun personal, between Dave Courtney & myself. He's always at it, someone has to handle the table bully. Shame he had the goods EVERY time I called........

I played a Super-Stud hand last night, & Jim McShane, who knows these games inside out, felt I kept the wrong starting hand. (Five cards are dealt face-down, we keep three, then play Hi-Lo Stud).
I was dealt this......
What three should I have kept, in your opinion?

As for table selection
I thought we had a good line up last night there certainly was value on the table last night if you had just stayed away from dave courtney a little you would of been fine.
i believe in the they play fast you play slow and they play slow you play fast idea. i stayed away from mr courtney by far the most dangerous player on the table. i trapped him a couple of times and stayed away from marginal hands against him. Against him its all or nothing

Yes, it's Amersham. Now, I know I'm a bit odd, but it seemed so incongrous, driving through such lovely Buckinghamshire countryside, to come acrss a Tube Station.
The Winner?
Wel, let's agree the Prize, first.
You get my undivided attention for a whole night.
Now who think's they've won?
Anyone? Hello. HELLO?

We were filming in High Wycombe High Street on Sunday. I don't do High Streets, ever, & it was interesting to note a new (to me) phenomonom.
Flash gits in sexed-up cars - spoilers, tinted windows, big exhausts, the usual kiddy-stuff - drove up & down the High Street, windows wide open, with their Radios on full-blast, with the Bass set at maximum.
Which everyone for 300 yards around had to listen to.
What is it with these guys? They think they look clever, cool, it's good to invade everyone's sound privacy with their frigging music?
I'd have 'em all shot. Loudly.

As far as I recall, I had as shown.
OK, let's ignore the clubs fior a moment.
Surely, A-2-3 is the answer? I know we have more ways of straighting with 3-4-5, but I just think A-2-3 has to be held.

Sadly, I did the complete opposite, & if Dave Courtney was in any Pot, so was I.
I take your point.
The problem of course is that with him, the pots get so damn big.

The key to Dave is making sure your against him in the pots you want to be in not the ones he wants you to be in. For example i have made a 9 low at lowball and have him betting into me. With what he has showing i know i have the best hand so i let him keep betting until 7th street where i raise him only for him to say no i cant call you i have trips.
As for the super stud the main reason i went with keeping the 3 4 5 was as i thought they were suited but a huget thing to realise and concentrate on with superstud that doesnt occur in any other card game that i play is the reshuffle. you can control at what stage of the betting the reshuffle occurs and whose cards have been mucked to be in the reshuffle plus you also know what you discarded preflop and therefore know what cards are mort likely to come back out.

The week ahead starts quietly, but then gets nice & busy. It makes no sense, after a heavy week, & before a heavy week, to go to Luton tonight. So I'm doing nothing tonight or tomorrow.
Wednesday I'm Interviewing Chris Moneymaker for Poker Week in London, at the Hilton Metropole. I have a business meeting in London on Thursday morning, so I'll stay over somewhere.
Friday it starts to hot up. I'm going to the Des Wilson Press Conference at 1pm in London, Paddington Hilton, then down to Feltham straight after to do the Show, so I'll stay over again. On Saturday I have to be in Bristol by 11am for the Sky Live Day, not decided yet whether to drive or train, the train - GWER - is very tempting. And Saturday will be huge fun but very tiring, so the Train would be sensible I guess.
I stay over in Bristol, then have to be in London on Sunday morning by 11am for the Poker Week shoot, so maybe an early train up from Bristol, or drive, not decided yet. After we've finished the Poker Week shoot, it's back to Feltham to do the Sunday Showdown for Sky - as a Guest, not Analyst - & I will stay over again for the Monday, when I do the Show as an Analyst.
On the Tuesday, if I go through with my promise to myself, it's off to Paris for 3 days to play some serious poker, the first time I've done so in ages.
Then on the Friday, it's down to Cornwall for Poker Week for Friday & Saturday, then back up to Feltham to do the Show on Saturday night.
Finally, to end a terrific two weeks, on the Sunday, we are filming at "Dealers Choice", a play, I think.
Things have turned out so well for me, I can't believe it sometimes. But I am always worried by clear blue skies, & as sure as God made little apples, a big black cloud will appear sooner or later. Ah well, I'll enjoy it while I can.
