I assume your Sat Nav is now fixed as you managed to make it home last night without stopping off in Luton for the Cash Game
Bracket is in full swing last night shame you missed it
I had hoped to come, in fact, if you'd rung me, I probably would have, but really, I was way too tired, it's been a heavy week, one way & another. I did the Show Thursday & Friday, & both of them were 4 hour jobbies, & my tank was empty. For once, I did the sensible thing. And now I'm regretting it!
Ah well, off to DTD tonight, & am looking forward to that enormously.

So much to do, so much to write, so little time......
Well, a few days at home in prospect, & I must get caught up with so many things.
I am a week or more behind with answering PM's - sorry, please be patient with me - ditto e-Mails. The "yes" "no" "3 bags full" replies are easy & quick to deal with, but many of them require or deserve more detailed & careful responses. I'm on the case.
I'm all behind with my Invoicing too - not even invoiced December yet, sheesh. The more I get behind, the deeper the hole I seem to get in, psychologically.
This Diary needs bringing up to date, I've not finished with the Beadle stuff yet, as does the Live Update Story thread.
There's been a lot going off BTS at blonde, & it's quite exacting, just keeping up with it all. Or not, as the case may be.
I've not been home for best part of a week really. Luton last Wednesday all-night Cash, Thursday & Friday I did "extended" Sky Shows both nights, Saturday & Sunday I was playing Tourneys all night at
dt
d
, & I've got some lovely memories to commit to paper.
This week? Nothing today or tomorrow, just catching up. My Broadband has been playing the fool, but it seems better today, so I may have half a chance. Wedneday I have a sort of "secret" engagement, a surprise jobbie, but I'll write about it on Thursday. On Thursday, I'm supposed to be at
dt
d
with a special friend, but time might be an issue, as I have stuff to do the next two days. Friday, I'm doing some Sky Filming at a players home in Dagenham, he won a Poker Table, Chip Set, & the booby prize too - me dealing for the night at a filmed home game. It'll be fun, but I'm just dreading driving to Dagenham on a Friday evening from Derbyshire. I'll probably book a local hotel so I can arrive early, get ready, & avoid the traffic. And then, on Saturday, I can go from there to the Matchroom Premier League Poker Launch Party, in London. Barry Hearn was kind enough to invite me, & threw in 4 tickets for the blondes, so although I loathe those kind of "dos" with a vengeance, especially if alcohol does it's usual trick of transforming otherwise decent people into blathering idiots, it should be OK. As it happens, I enjoy "funny" drunks, but the boorish loud ones just do my head in. I need to work on my tolerance. Then again, I don't give a shit.
And that'll be another week done & dusted.
Next week, of course, it's the Walsall GUKPT Fessie & the very tempting Paris Open at The Aviation. Work has destroyed my poker Diary that week, but I hope to manage a support Event or two at Walsall. If I get lucky, & a meet in London on Monday lunchtime ends quickly enough, I'll play the £200 Freeze on Monday, the £300 two-day Double Chance on Tuesday, & the Omaha on Wednesday. My cash to tourney ratio in Omaha Comps is excelent, though the sample size is small. All the GUKPT Side Events are beautifully structured, & the Structures have been known for over a month already - for the whole year. How unique - & good - is that? Well played Lord Raab.
But first - obviously - Wind Farms.

You DRINK? Tell me it ain't so......I must say, I never noticed.
Matt is one of the few guys I love to see bladdered. He becomes very "honest", & he marked my card as to all the DTD Finalists abilities. Dynamite I tell you, dynamite.

Im not happy about that photo. Not happy at all. Its unrealistic to say they come all the way from the far east to play DC with me in Luton.
Except the billy's thats plain untrue.
Also, whilst on the subject of photo's, is it true you can turn water into wine?

The Times leads today with....
"Wind Farms - a threat to National Security"
......& goes on to say that some idiot in the MOD suggests we must not have Wind Farms as they interfere with Defence Radar Systems. Such tosh. I am surprised that The Times has stooped to such low journalism levels, & if our Defence Boffins can't design Radar that can differentiate between a Wind-Farm and the very real threat (pardon my sarcasm, but they do worry about it, you know) of an incoming attrack by the Russians, well, it's a poor do. And no surprise.
Aesthetically, Wind Farms cause much controversy. It's wholly subjective, so none of us can argue we are right or wrong, but I think they are quite elegant & beautiful, & even as a stout lover of our countryside, I think they actually can enhance some scenic vistas. We NEED Wind-Farms, & there is a price to pay for everything. So if we want leccy, we gotta have Wind Farms. May as well get used to them.
The eco-terrorists, of course, argue all night & day - "the end is nigh" - but who listens to them? They lost all credibility after Greenham Common & the Newbury By-Pass Protest Camps. It's not widely realised that those two Campaigns were the same bunch of folks, Camping in exactly the same place. They were rebels without a cause after the Cruise Missiles were removed, so they stayed put - some are still there now! - & metamorphed overnight into the Newbury By-Pass Protest Camp. And was the Newbury By-Pass the ecological disaster they all huffed & puffed it would be? Was it heck. It's a magnificently beautifully engineered & designed piece of road now, blending comfortably with nature - such as a road can - & the people of Newbury, previously an 18 hour a day traffic & exhaust emission hell-hole, have their Town back. Nature has superb ability to re-gather itself after human disruption.
After the Torrey Canyon went down - we did bomb it, after all, & our Royal Navy eventually hit the sitting target laying in the South-West Channel after 23 attempts - the cries were "the Cornwall & Devon Coasts are doomed forever, & all creatures who live in the sea ditto". It took a year to recover, case closed. Or look at the magnificently restorative process of Mother Nature after forest fires. She is far more clever & agile than she is given credit for.
And - sorry, rant nearly over - if peeps wanna get upset about eyesores, let them start on those who allowed thst most dreadful of eyesores., the Celtic Manor Golf Hotel at Newport, to spoil the view for miles & miles, or the Blue Circle Cement works at Hope, in Derbyshire, surely the ultimate insult to our countryside.

I intended to use this Pic for my Wind-Farm piece, but with the gate in the foreground, I thought some might take offence.

For those not in the Luton Loop, "billys" is a local term, patented by the Legend that is Mo Mose, to describe "fish". "You are a billy" goes his cry, as he calls Post-Flop with 4-2, hits perfect perfect against my top set, then claims "I heard voices"......
Water into wine? When you are at the Cash-Table, it's a piece of piss.

Jumping ahead of myself here, but Rookie has goaded me into this.
I luck-boxed myself to the
dt
d
£100 Final last night, chip-daddy most of the way, but met with a nasty accident, & with 3 left, I was joint low, but in contention still.
One of the other two guys - the new Chip-Daddy, now nursing much of what was previously my stack - suggested a Deal, it had been a wonderful "fun" Final, & you know me & Deals, I take 'em all day. He offered such that I'd get 2nd place there & then, but
dt
d
don't allow Deals - fine by me - so the ever-watchful Lee, who was Tableside, said "we don't allow freely negotiated deals as such, but we DO allow "chip-count" type deals, I've already worked out what you'd all get". Efficient, eh? One guy said, "surely, we can do what we like, in secret?". No sirree, if you get caught, it's DTD Curtains if you do.
So Lee outlines what we'd all get. Third place, plus about £150 (IIRC) for every 30,000 chips I had. It came, to near as makes no difference - £1,300 - the same as 2nd place. Third was £895 I think. A no-brainer, I'll take those all day. Except, a complication arose.
Rooks & Kev had been Railing me all Final, which I do find quite nice. I'd been flicking my cards up for them to see - I normally charge for lessons, but Rooks is so bad, & I could see his envy of my all-out aggresssion.
Anyway, I'm about to say "yes please, that'll do me" when I hear a commotion behind me. I turn round, & Rooks & Kev are doing a mime of what looks like the Birdie Song, with embellished "cluck, cluck cluuuuuck-cluck-cluck" kinda thing. I mean ffs. It's male ego & all that stuff, & of course I turn down the bloody Deal. And it cost me 500 bloody quid.
But I got my payback on the two billys, and with interest......
