A typical APAT scene. The Dealer here was, I think, Chinese Frankie's Sister, she never stopped squawking, but she was huge fun. "You aw pway too swow, you must waise it, waise it".

Commentating on the Final, also serving to let Rich - who was "stranded" 10 yards away, know what was happening, as he was Updating, was a nightmare.

There was no PA system, there was another 80 runner-comp in progress, the final 15 minutes of the hugely exciting Turkey match, being shown on 2 Plasmas,  was eliciting much oohing & arring & shouting, & then came the Final Hand of APAT Dublin, this commentator's nightmare. Newport Lad held the A-7, but I think almost half the pack after the Turn was chop-material, & I struggle to think quick enough in these situations, plus we were not quite sure if Newport "covered" the other lad, it was very close.

His Heads-Up Opponent played brilliantly. His name was Bobby, from Dublin. So it was all "Bobby & Darren". I almost burst into song a few times.

Hard to believe, but this is where Des booked us to stay. I think he got a 3 for 1 deal. It was lovely.

It stands in a lot of ground, & is due to be closed down, & replaced by Apartments very soon. It must be true, a Cabbie told me.

I was supposed to go to the Airport at 0530 on Monday with Rich. He agreed to share a cab with me, even though he had a later flight. I overlaid, so Rich copped for the solo Cab Fare (about €30) & lost half-an-hours kip, down to me. Sorry Rich.
