At the entrance to the Wildfowl Reserve, which is also a Licensed Fishery, was this concrete slab, set in the ground. It's quite new, no more than a few months old I'd guess.
Any ideas what it's all about? (No, I don't know).

At a guess, I would say its an old slab that was used by trainee gravestone engravers to practice their work, and fell into the hands of someone at the fishery who used it to patch up the pathway.

Spotted at The Weekly Poker Club National Finals at Hove Greyhound Stadium on Sunday.
I believe he'd come straight from Church.

They have a nice sculpture at Hove Dog Track of the great Ballyregan Bob. After murdering OR's all over the UK, he came to Hove & won his 32nd race on the bounce, back in the 80's.
This, I think, is that very race.

So, the sculpture was unveiled by Lavinia, Duchess of Norfolk, & she could tell a story or two.
She lives (lived?) just up the road at Arundel Castle, & Arundel Stables, then home of John Dunlop (but now his Son Ed Dunlop?) was pretty much The Duchess's Private Stable at times. She bred, & raced, many a good racehorse. Her Daughter is Lady Herries.

Looks like a lovely spot Tikay. Quick question? Do you like the seaside as well, or prefer to be sat near a lake?

These days, because as I've aged (a little) I've come to see, & notice, birdlife, especially ducks, & wildfowl, much more than when I was younger, so I appreciate lakes, rivers (especially), reservoirs, & ponds.
There is a disused opencast mine near me, now a Wildfowl Reserve, crammed with every sort of duck & bird imaginable, & I try & go sit by that at least once a week. I even took Angell there once, but he crapped himself when he saw the Swans. Water also stimulates me in other ways, but let's not go there.
Seaside? Well, we must define "seaside" first. Seaside is Brighton Beach, Southend, Blackpool, da de da. Too horrible to even contemplate.
"Coast" is different, & though there is less wildlife to see - though Gulls are awesomely fascinating - I like rugged coast, with rocks, & breakers, on an incoming tide. Hence my "right round the Scottish coast tour" remains on the itinerary, the Scottish coast is stunning, & draws ever nearer.
One exception to "rugged Coast" is the beaches on the northern coast of Oahu (Hawaii), which includes the famous Banzai Beach. The waves there are momentous, & it's easy to sit & watch them for hours.

We'll have to kidnap you for a few days on this side of the river then.

Severe piles, the bombay trots & a sneezing fit would be funnier than Mr Brown. IMO, that is.
