I had two uncles who were pulled over by the police for speeding. With no ID on them the officers asked them what their names were and 'Phillip Phillipou and Soteri Soteriou' came the replies.

Not amused the police officer put them in the van and in a cell for a night thinking they were taking the piss until their wives confirmed the next day that they were indeed their names!

A lot of people in greek culture have names like that. My grandad's brother in Australia is called Arestis Paparestis.

I've just remembered an old golfing buddy of mine from Blackpool called Ivor Lefton.

Not sure why these name things reminded me, but I saw a Red-Top headline this morning which tickled me.

The ever-loyal Ronalda spent an evening with that paragon of virtue, Paris Hilton, who is, I'm led to believe, a young Lady, not a Hotel. The Headline said.....

"Ronaldo spends night in Paris".

There was a girl in my year at school called Anne Summers.  No one else seemed particularly amused by it though!  Ex hubby went to school with a boy called Wayne Kaur (parents' first language wasn't English).

Strangest name I ever heard someone give their kid was years ago a bloke my mum worked with became a dad, and they called the child Tuppence Baby (first and middle names)  idiot

They could have been a bit more original....the sex tape that Paris's ex sold was named 'One night in Paris'. Rick Solomon was the bloke's name and he's now often seen on the poker circuit.

My mate, Keith Kerr, named his son Wayne...   Keith and his wife were oblivious, until he was like 13 and one day came home from school a little depressed, and asked his dad...  Why did you name me Wayne dad..??  Why son??  DOH..!!
