Speaking to the evil banned Flushy last Monday evening and we are just having a chat about things in general, and I mention that im a bit knobbed off at the moment what with one thing or another ... "F**k that" he says, "get your fat arse down here for a few days and kip on the couch, we will have a laugh and spend a few days winding Irish Denis and Dave Barnes up, always good entertainment"

He has a way with words does our flushy !!

So I decide to take him up on his kind offer, and set off on Wednesday lunchtime to drive down from Colchester.

I phone him as I'm approaching Brighton marina ... where Flushy and Jungle Cat share a penthouse apartment (separate bedrooms mind) and as I pull into the parking space outside their apartment block, i realise that Cat wasn't joking when he talked about the turtle being launched at anyone that invades their parking space ... Donatello came hurtling from the 3rd floor balcony like a cross between a swooping hawk and a falling brick !! narrowly avoiding my bonce as i struggled from the car laden with a holdall and a quilt.

Anyway ... I am warmly received by Cat and Flushy and we doss around for an hour and have a laugh and a good old chin wag ... Cat has a bottle of JD half empty on the coffee table, but my resolve was strong and i never touched a drop (well not that day anyway Wink )

I met JC's lovely girlfriend ... (far too good for him) she was a proper looker ... and a nice person to go with it .. a rare thing in my experience. Time was pushing on, so me and the gender bender bade farewell to JC and Claire and headed off to the casino (which is staggering distance from the penthouse) where i was going to rail him in the 150 freezeout.

As we approached the cash desk Flushy said that he was putting me in the comp, and he wasnt taking any excuses ... a wonderful gesture, for which i was genuinely grateful .... I played good too, got quite deep and outlasted Flushy ... until my 88 was no good against matey boys A7  .... he raised, 1 caller, I then push all in .... initial raiser goes into the tank and calls, other caller shows 66 and passes ..... blank blank blank blank .. river ACE .. NH WP GG ..TOSSER !!! oh well ... never mind ... Flushy gets into a cash game and the banter really starts, Barnesy (Dave Barnes) has recently moved down to Brighton ... lured by the £2-£2 omaha game where flushy and paul parker are known to donate. Barnesy is top value... always good for banter and the crack, flushy abuses him mercilessly, but Barnsey gives it back plenty , its all great fun.

Thursday is a £200 comp, and I have some work to do early evening and a few meetings to get sorted with Irish Denis and a few others .... Plus there was the blonde/Virgin comp so i did my bit of graft and headed back to the penthouse to play the comp while Flushy and Denis played the £200.

After a successful 3rd place for me in the comp I headed back over the road ... both Denis and Flushy were out and in cash games... again the banter was top notch.

Irish Denis was sat at the table eating cheese and biscuits as was Mark "The Thistle" and after polishing it off they decided they wanted some more ... cue Jess the gorgeous valet, chinese girl.. absolute stunner.

Denis ... "That cheese was beautiful, can we have another 2 plates please, one for me and one for Mark"

Jess.... Im sorry the chef has gone home now and i dont know how to cook it"

LOL at 8 poker players all just staring at each other, not sure if they heard right...

Denis, "dont worry about cooking it Jess, we will have it raw"

Jess, "I can try and do it, but im not sure I will get it right ...i didnt watch him cut it so i dont know what to do"

Denis "Jess, bring the block of cheese and a knife, we will do it for you"

Now by this time everyone is pissing themselves, even Jess... and she went off to do her best ... she came back with a perfect platter of sliced cheese and biscuits for which she got a massive round of applause and a healthy tip.

By about midnight Denis Flushy and myself decide we fancy a few jars and we leave the casino and head off to a few bars where we get on a bit of a sesh and have a great craic in a little boozer somewhere in Brighton ... the pub closes at 2am so we head back to the casino for a few more ... stuart Rutter is there and we all decide to get another cab back out into brighton in a quest for more ale ... despite being warned that the rules of drink club are that the one in the front seat pays for the cab, Rutter is too slow as Den Me and Flushy pile in the back leaving Stuart to claim the fornt seat and get the fare  ..... but it gets better, the daft numpty forgets the rules and ends up in the front seat again on the way home as well Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy . we end up back at Denis's hotel and get some drinks and food put on his room ... "would that be singles or doubles gents" ... asks the night porter ... "TREBLES" shouts flushy LOL ..cheers Denis Wink

Friday arrives and after rising at about 3 in the afternoon, Flushy JC and myself put some music on and are having some banter ... then I put "wish you were here" pink floyd on ... and JC gets his guitar and starts playing along ... fkin awesome .... he is totally self taught on the guitar and picked the riff up straight away ... we then had him entertain us with some quality self penned stuff and i even got him playing house of the rising sun while i sang along ... top entertainment.

Off to casino again later in the evening and despite a lack of sleep, Denis goes deep in the comp until 2 tables out gets it in with A9 v A2 only for the 2 to come on the river ... SICK. ... meanwhile flushy is bitch slapping the cash game and the banter is flying about again.

I look at my watch ... its 2.30 am and i have to return to Colchester, Kids were back later that day, so I said my goodbyes to Flushy and the boys at the casino ... popped back to the penthouse to grab my belongings and say goodbye to JC.

I had a blast, great entertainment, great company .... and you know what ... GREAT FRIENDS.

It's not until you go through a low point in your life that you find out what the real meaning of friendship is ... truth is, I am blessed with a lot of friends that are genuine and care about me, And Flushy and JC are right up there with the best of them. Thanks for the hospitality fellas, it meant a lot.
