Do you know how many they play down to? I'm sure it'll go down to the final table.

In 35 minutes they've managed to play 6 hands on the feature table. They might get 24 hands in a 2 hour level if they're lucky. Meanwhile on the other 3 tables play continues 'as normal'. Unless of course there's an all-in and a call in which case it'll take 10 minutes to get the board cards dealt.

It's a disgrace that they let the TV people dictate the pace of play to the detriment of the tournament in general and the players in particular.

For once I doubt the tv people are to blame.

Even when I first went to the WSOP before tv cameras were around, play slowed to a funerial pace at the last couple of tables.

Although I guess it's understandable, for a fairly quick player it must be infuriating in the extreme.

I understand people take a bit longer to make decisions when they're under pressure.

Apparently one of the reasons play is so slow is that all the chips are very similar colours.

I'd be spitting feathers.

Scotty Nguyen Color Blind?
Scotty Nguyen had a problem with putting the wrong color chip out for his big blind. There are three denominations of chips and they're all a variation of orange. The 5,000 chips are orange or tangerine as one staff member called it. The 25,000 chips are peach-colored. The 50,000 are salmon-colored. Depending on the lighting in the Amazon Ballroom and underneath the lights of the ESPN feature table, both players and dealers are having a difficult time figuring out what chips are in play. As one player said, he had to physically look at the numbers on the chips to determine what he's betting. Since all the chips are very similar to each other, action has slowed down while players make extra precautions before betting. Dealers are also having a tougher time counting down stacks and bets.

Unreal  3 chips at this stage close to the same colour
