I think this is why we all play poker for that 1 chance of life changing money and what a great story this would be to see skalie winnin after being on such a bad run and nearly packin it in brilliant!!

Played with him before really aggressive and plays a big stack great so obviously has a superb chance now.
Has he done a deal way full tilt does any1 no? Fair play to him squeeze every penny outta them

Whatever happens from here on in, Skalie has made a WSOP MAIN EVENT final table ... every poker players dream, and one that so few people ever achieve ....

Good luck in the final Skalie.

just spoke to kila (mrs kalmar). he's exhausted and elated. it's going to feel like a long wait for the final table, but my god what an acheivement.

two months ago jon told me that things were running so badly for him that he was considering going back to work in IT. looks like that plan is on the back burner now.

i'm biased because he's my good friend.... but i reckon he deserves it. he's talented, humble and generous. not a bad combination IMHO...

bring it home m8

I agree mate - I am sure loads of Kal stories will be told, but the man is a gent.  We met online 5 years ago when we finalled in the $100 at Laddies, he timed out, I tried to persuade the other guy to wait and he just kept nicking the blinds.  Kal e mailed me to thank me, and we stayed in touch on line.  At 2005 WSOP he offered me to share in his room, saved me $1000, then proceeded to roll me for a bit after a bad two weeks.  Didnt ask for a penny back till we chopped the Prima $20k 9 months later.

The guy is just one of the nicest people I have met on the poker scene, I will be spending my 36th birthday (today!) in Turkey, sat in the hotel lobby using wi fi rather than out on the lash.

Bring it home mate

Wow, dont even know they guy but what an astounding achievement. Wish him all the best, from the updates he is certainly playing his stack very very well, unrelenting pressure could mean we have a British 2007 WSOP champ.

How good that would be long term for our poker, who know? I think it would be massive.

Excellent stuff.  Great to see a Brit on the final table, and although I've never met the fella the endorsements he's getting from everyone are good enough for me!

And to think only a few short weeks ago he was sat doing my quiz at Blonde Bash 4, albeit having to work hard to overcome the drag-factor of having Norman on the same team (but at least it wasn't Ironside!)

Brilliant effort, regardless of what happens from now!

Best of luck Skalie.
