In just over two days the final Harry Potter book is out ending a ten year legacy from JK Rowling of a story spanning seven years.

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked the latter books as they became darker. The depths of her writing really is quite remarkable, quite easily on a par wth JRR Tolkien and the world (including dates, languages, histories, maps and traditions) he created in his mind.

JK is now a billionairess from the series which has been written in mulpitple languages with two more films still to come as well as theme parks planned for the US, Europe and Asia. The books, originally written for children have been read by people of all sexes and ages in all four corners of the globe.

I like it when nice people from humble beginnings do well. I take my hat off to JK.

yup, the lady done well. I've read them all, though not quite in the "queue up in Tesco's at midnight" category, they've all been well worth reading

Remarkably popular, took my kids see the latest film last weekend, and it worked for adults and kids alike.

I think the books are great.  I got in to them on holiday a few years ago, great reading for lounging about.  Haven't pre-ordered the new book but I expect my local Sainsburys will have more copies than they know what to do with so I'll pop out and grab a copy.

Actually quite agree about the Tolkien comparison.  Some of the stuff she has created has been amazing.

I agree with Rodney the recent offering is indeed poo

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

The release of one coincided with my eldest's birthday, yes I was in the queue, well would have been if the other residents of Caterham had shown any interest.

Oh and the films are a neat bit of cinematography.
