The question is striker, not overall football player, so all i have to say is:

Barclays Premiership Top Scorers

Drogba Chelsea 21
McCarthy Blackburn 19
Ronaldo Man Utd 17
Viduka Middlesbro' 16
Bent Charlton 14
Doyle Reading 14
Rooney Man Utd 14

Best GOAL SCORER = Drogba (if going by last years stats goal scoring records posted by horniers),  the question was best striker so as rooney is a striker then it is him

Like comparing Frank Lampard with Makelele. Two COMPLETELY different forward players.

Both are in-expendable to their teams - but I would choose Rooney for all round ability + longevity.

For the best Striker, going from last season, has to be Drogba

Rooneys the best overall player, but thats not the question.

Drogba didnt have the best first season in England, but looks like hes got it together now

Best Striker = Drogba IMO

Striker = Goalscorer ^^^

All you have to ask is if you had one space at centre forward for you team and they were both available who would you pick ??

Answer ......... much as it pains a Liverpool fan ........ Rooney

Can Drogba do this  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KBTX_oDYWo

Depends who else is in the team, couldn't have another player exactly like Rooney in the same team.

Whereas, could have them both in the same team, as Rooney chips in with his fair share of goals and Drogba would be the main out and out striker
