On this occasion words are necessary... PLEASE DON'T FOLLOW THIS LINK BEFORE READING THE FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION/JUSTIFICATIONA colleague was scanning some old photos of his Dad's national service time in the far east in the fifties. The photo shows a group of Ghurkas 'sacrificing' (his words - looks more like a ritual or traditional slaughter) a cow (or similar). Now I'm not the sort of bloke who goes hunting on the internet for gore - in fact I've actively tried to avoid things such as poor Ken Bigley et al) and I'm anti-blood sports but this photo I feel is shocking, fascinating, horrendous and many more adjectives beside. The Ghurka's blade has just clean severed the poor animal's head in one stroke and the head is in mid air separated from its body by about eighteen inches. There is some blood but thankfully the photo is black and white. http://shorl.com/brysedrigivuto
