Isn't this exactly how we got into the current mess - taking on loans from
dodgy crooks like Ecclestone legitimate busniessmen? I thought the whole point of buying a football club was that you pumped money into it, as an investment (or plaything). Abramovich didn't 'loan' Chelsea all that money - he would only expect to get that money back if it grew the value of the club when the time comes to sell it. He doesn't have an IOU from Chelsea for £300m in his wallet
Also, if they think a £5m loan will 'get us into the Premier League within the next four years' then they clearly know cock all about football.
I have a bad feeling about this.
