Down the smoke
«

I spent the last couple of days in London with Mrs Red and my youngest girl Bridie, while we were there we had a walk around Harvey Nics. OMG! Is it really possible to manufacture shoes that are £750....EACH? Or for a scone and a tea to cost £14? Or for an ordinary looking jacket to be REDUCED to £1399?
I watched lots of ladies buying stuff, and I watched Mrs Red not buying stuff. I asked her if she envied them and she replied, "No". "They think they need those things, no matter what they buy, they will want more tomorrow" "Tomorrow they will be wanting, I won't"

I am a cheap skate so I would never pay that for a pair of shoes.
How about this knife my friend has ordered for his fishing once a week. It can do everthing, but it is £500 , lol .

Did you know that Picadilly was named after the picadil collar? (the big lacey jobbes) The geezer that manufactured them made a vast fortune and built most of that part of the city.

Shoes for 750, I heard they exsisted...I would not dare walk on them..do they come with auto roll out carpet.I have a pair of Jesus like sandles that have been with me years.. they tend to pong quite a lot now but can not bring myself to part with them..and besides ..I wish I could walk in heels but I lost that talent years ago when I became a commercial window cleaner, I found it hard to balance 30ft up a ladder in high heels.

Did you walk around thinking, "Gah, it's like Picadilly Circus around here..."

Very cost effective for a one legged man. I wonder if they would make you buy both or if you could just buy the 1?

Yes, I can understand how you would think that.

my dad said to me once when i was a kid and being mardy because i couldn't have something. 'Don't envy the rich son, essentially there doing the same stuff as me and you but they're just doing it in more expensive shoes'.

Not quite everything, it's pretty much unusable as a normal pen knife because it's too big to hold properly.

Useful as a doorstop though.

On the plus side I got six pairs of comfy boxer shorts and six pairs of "executive" socks from Edmonton market in NE London the other day for a tenner, so it's not all bad

Not all bad by any means. We had a great 3 course meal including soft drinks, under £20 for 3 people.
