Yes, I think you need a contract Brendan. If you go for Vodafone tell them you want the business tarriff, £25 a month.

The cheapest way is to buy it online (Don't take out any insurance and refuse to pay a delivery charge)

Before you use it for the first time you have to Contact Voda (Or pop into a shop) and ask them to activate it and lift the adult content bar so that you can access poker sites.

I have been watching with interest as I am going to need one soon.

So it boils down to the £49 outlay for the modem and £25 per month for up to 3GB

3GB would more than cover poker and forum surfing for the month, as long as you keep away from downloading music +/or movies

Is that about right Red?

Just been reading some info about 3 and their mobile broadband. They launched a while ago in Ireland and all was great to start with but then their network got oversubscribed and crippled.

Hopefully the same thing won't happen on their UK network, but who knows. Maybe something to think about if you are going to sign up for an 18month contract with them!

The info I got was from here: http://www.talk3g.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4417
