At The Rental Shop the cost for the rental is lower than they expect at only £25!
This means they have £5 change from the £30 in the kitty!
They each take £1 back meaning they each paid £9 with £2 left in the kitty!
Lets Do The Maths 3 x £9 = £27
Left In Kitty = £2
TOTAL = £29
What has happened to the other £1..??

You cant add the kitty to whats paid in, the kitty is part of that amount
so its 3* £9 = £27 paid in (or £30 - £3)
minus the rental = -25
