Tables are breaking smoothly and coming to the end of this first 400/800 ante 100 level we've already dropped from 204 starting players to around 187.  One of those just gone is Patrick Bueno who was taken out by Juan Maceiras Lapido.  There was a raise preflop (I am going to guess this came from in-position Lapido) perhaps even two as the pot was just over 6k as the flop came down .  Patrick Bueno checked, Lapido bet 8,500 and Bueno moved in.  Instacall - Lapido showed but made a sound like someone had just stood on his foot with a high heel when he saw Bueno's flush-drawing .
Turn and river:  and a relieved young Spaniard smacks the table, shouts, "Yeah!" and has a quick grinning conversation in Spanish with the dealer, to the confusion of tablemates Thor Hansen and Jan Sjavik.

Praz Bansi hasn't got off to a good start - raising with he was called by the big blind and got all the way to the river with the board reading Q-5-3-3-7, at which point Praz paid off his opponent's 5k bet with .  Having started off with under 17k, this was a decent chunk of his stack, but he's calmly regarding his 10,200 he has left as still being more than a chip and a chair.

Ian Woodley, on the other hand, had a great first half hour, despite nearly missing the start as he'd failed to notice the time.  "Is it five o'clock already?" he asked me, surprised, while lurking near the cash-game signup board where he was trying to insert Ryan Fronda's name into the 10/20 PLO list.  He hurried off to immediate success (he's now the big stack on his table with around 50,000) while I put Fronda down for some 50/100 No Limit Hold'em with Dario Minieri.

This is some truly awesome optimism, Matt.  The clue is where Dan Carter says, "whilst I was still in," in a sad-sounding past tense.

. I raised allin UTG for 10k with  . It folded round to the BB who thought for 5 minutes and called with . Flop came 226 followed by a 4 of hearts to give me a flush draw, but the river was a blank queen.

Desperately short stacked Nikolay Losev makes a last stand with , but is knocked out by ...


...Matey re-raises preflop from the small blind, getting his 21k all in against Simon Wolf (I think - they are already mixed up around the room quite a bit) with against .  Pretty bad shape for the all-in player, but an on the river doubles him up turning the tables on his now short-stacked opponent.  Unusually, no reaction...


...Mark Teltscher, still nicely chipped, raises to 2,400 on the button (with what looked suspiciously like a ready made little stack nestling by his other towers), called by the big blind (Kitai Davidi Jacob).  Checked to in the dark for the flop, Teltscher bet 2,800; call.  Check-check for the and turn and river, and Jacob showed the which was good enough, apparently.  "Nice hand, sir," said Teltscher, clearly not bothered by losing the skirmishes, focused on the war...

Having a few connection problems here, it's all rather slow.

Adam Junglen calls a 3k raise from the small blind, I don't think it is the original player from that seat, Richard Guttman, because he started the day with just 1,100 and this guy has a lot more.

Flop:



Small blind bets 4k, Adam calls.

Turn:



Check, check

River:



Small blinds bets 8k, Adam slowly moves all-in for 29.4k more. Small blind eventually folds.

Daniel Negreanu is on over 60k, he had against the big stack's and a shorties' . The crowd swelled as the board came an unthreatening .
