Daniel Negreanu bites the dust - against ... A-K-9 on the flop, gutshot-creating T on the turn, emphatic blank Deuce on the river.  Everyone seems rather disappointed in the press room, but the rest of the tourney bravely carries on.

Javed Abrahams takes a bite out of Ian Woodley - calling Woodley's preflop raise in the blinds he saw a flop of three clubs, checked to the aggressive Woodley who promptly bet 8,500 (about the pot).  Javed thought for a minute, then his single chip tower went over the line - 16,500 more for Ian Woodley to call.  Some head-shaking, cheek-puffing-out discomfort later, and Woodley passed giving the youngster a slightly healthier stack.

Johnny Chan is OUT. A-5 vs 8-8 vs J-J. The Jacks scooping the lot.

Here's Greg Dyer, sitting next to Julian Thew. (You can also see Katja Thater and Michael Greco on the table behind)

Julian raised it up from early position, and found one caller, the flop came , Julian bet 9k, his opponent made it 29k. After a long dwell which involved getting his opponent to agree to show, Thewy passed his face up, he got shown . "I'm so glad I didn't have Queens!" He told me.

Nikolaus Jedlicka, just behind chip leader Martin Wendt (150k). Nik has 135k

Very interesting news.

How many players are there still in the game?

Is Samuel Laborde still here?

This is now what the tournament area looks like with 84 players remaining:

I was politely ushered out of the too-small area by a floorperson who looked genuinely regretful that he had to remove the press who were all doing a stirling job of getting in the way of each other and knocking the back of the players' chairs annoyingly.  I must have looked more mutinous than I felt, though, as he added, "Thomas said," knowing that there are few authority figures in poker so respected.  There are a few gaps between some thin potted plants through which we have a pretty good view of table Woodley/Nathan/Hansen/Abrahams, though, so expect update service to continue...

Yes, the problem is that by breaking the tables in order, they've gradually compressed the players into a smaller and smaller space. What should've been done was to break the tables alternatively. (e.g 25, 23, 21) Thus freeing up the space for everyone, including the film crews. At the moment, half the cardroom is empty and the other half, jamtastically packed.

Snapped just before ejection:

Mark 'The Thinker' Vos, who's had a lot of chips all the way through the tournament, the difference has been what they've been worth (towers of hundreds and 500s have replaced the earlier green 25s):

Michael Greco, lone remaining Dusk Till Dawn player - has been hanging on with a microstack for a long time:

This guy just doubled up nicely with - I only had a second to see what was happening but there was definitely a Ten on the board and a pile of Thomas Wahlroos' chips heading into a little lake in front of him.  He didn't look up for the whole time I was standing there, and this was the point I got sent behind the rail.  Was planning on a companion picture of a now short-stacked losing Wahlroos, but he gave me a rude finger gesture instead so he doesn't get on this post.

Sole remaining female player Katja Thater, calmly playing what looks to be a slightly dwindling stack:

Is Mr Greco trialling a sort of lower lip Hitler tash?

Javed Abrahams, never counted among the big stacks, but not among the rail birds either, yet...

Having just posted that, Javed Abrahams doubled up to just over 70k through neighbour (and chip monster - must be the best part of 200k in front of him) Fabrice Soulier... Caught him collecting the chips with a board of in the middle and only his hand - - showing.

The very next hand, now short stacked Rayan Nathan (about 16k) raised to 5,000 preflop.  The blinds are currently 1k/2k... button Fabrice Soulier called as did small blind Javed Abrahams.  The flop:  Two Diamonds
Check to Rayan who unsurprisingly shoved - the Frenchman on the button smoothly called and they were on their backs:
Rayan Nathan -
Fabrice Soulier -

So Rayan Nathan is OUT and yet another table has been broken.

Access now at a minimum. Sad

Although I'm told we are just playing to the money tonight, there's still 15 people or so to go.

Here's some photos of what I've managed to just about get.

Michael Greco had short-stacked Katja Thater all-in with Q-Q vs 5-4 on a 9-5-x board, Katja spiked her two pair on the turn, Greco was not amused. Thewy came by quickly for a short pep talk.

Two photos showing how close I'm actually allowed to the action.

Do my eyes deceive me or is this Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr?
