Welcome to Plymouth y'all. In a casino very reminiscent of the Brighton Grosvenor, we are here for the very latest Blue Square/Grosvenor event. Despite being tucked away in the corner of the UK, a fair number of top players have made it here. Oh and Flushy is here too.

Last night I played the £250 Omaha with Flushy, Jeff Kimber, Riverdave, Actionjack and also one player who had his surname spelt amusingly wrong... This picture should give you a clue to his identity.

Say what you see... Wink

Joined the 2/2 £100 sitdown PLO game where Roberto Romanello cleared up apparently, catching everything with his total filth.

Interesting story, 5-handed in the £300 event. Flushy, Jaffacake and Johnny Hewston still in. Jeff raises from UTG to 4,800 with A9o I think with around 30k or something. Johnny Hewston (who has him covered I think) calls in the big blind. The flop comes K-8-3 rainbow, Hewston bets 4k, Jeff moves all-in. Hewston dwells, then says, "I don't think you have a king." And then calls. With Q-J. Jack on the turn.

A ducky facing a large red bill for the week? Is it flushy?

Hi all

I've been invited back to report on behalf of blonde and I'm very glad to be here. The journey to plymouth is long( 8.5 hrs door to door) but will be worth it for the fine display of poker we are about to see I imagine.

The press room is ever so slightly cramped today, although the fridgeful of butter that is taking up half the space means we are very unlikely to be short of supplies of toast and butter should we get hungry. Except for the toast.

We're 40 mins away from kick off, so i'm off to the fridgeful of butter to filll my boots (they are chafing slightly)....

Indeed, I saw this one guy, he was curing the sick and driving out demons. I was sceptical at first, but then he put his hand on my shoulder and I knew everything was going to be ok...

Do you live in Torquay but decided to go the scenic route around the equator?

6 live update teams..2 or 3 each, hangers on, cameramen etc etc

we'll call it 25 people in the press room

quick late lunch, early tea, late evening snack and then 3am munchies

4 knobs per person then = 100 knobs

some will go for two knobs per sandwich

I guesstimate 125 knobs

What do i win?

Yup, a small spanish waiter gave me the directions before getting slapped round the head by a tall, gangly manic looking bloke.

To be fair the train journey is standardly only 5.15 hours but a small delay on the brighton to READING leg, held me up by over an hour. AND they ran out of sandwiches in the buffet car, which very nearly caused a fracas. Luckily the man in the buffet car thought on his feet and defused the threatening atmosphere by distributing fruit flapjacks or there could have been mayhem.....

ANYWAY I digress....seats are being drawn and players making their way to the tables so hold on tight, we're about to start...

Chips are clicking, cards are being dealt, all the anticipation is over and we are underway!

Still surveying the lay of the land, but I can tell you that John Hewston, James Dempsey and Barry Neville are occupying the same felt. There's likely to be a bit of chip movement, not to mention banter, on that table I imagine...

Jon Raab suggested there were 90 or so runners today, which is likely to be whittled down to 30 by the end of the day. It's hard to say whether this will be a quick or slow process. I would say on the surface of things this looks like a slightly weaker field than in Luton so the cat's forecast for early casualties is "Medium to heavy."

Noflops is out prowling like an animal, looking for a prime vantage point to snap some vintage shots for you so I'll join him and see if we can find ourselves some action....
