Day 3 of this event was probably the most frustrating of my poker career.
For the most of the day, I was sat on an excellent table again, with lots of chips on offer. The main problem was we had a couple of calling stations. Which is fine, as long as you can pick up the odd hand...it just didn't happen
In 7.5 hours of poker , I picked up a pair of Jacks and one AK, no AQs & no other pairs above
. Incredibly frustrating in this level of tourney.
Eventually I cracked. I played Q6 of hearts on the button. Mainly, just because it was the blinds for Victor Ramin and John Smith. Both had big stacks, and both were calling stations, and I knew I could get on if I hiit something. Two
hit the board and I proceeded to lose 270k to A6 held by the big blind
The whole of the rest of the day was just survival, stealing the odd blind to tread water
Eventually I found JJ and moved over the top of Victor who called my only all-in with 99 - my hand stood up, and I had some more oxygen
The deck is due to hit me in the face first thing today, so maybe we will catch up fast when it does....maybe not
