Thanks, sorry for such a straightforward (boring) hand, I was just wondering at such small limits and no read do you lay down the 2nd nuts to a half pot bet based on the play so far? Guess that's what separates the good from the average. It was quite clear he more than likely had the straight but I thought it was worth the call to 1) see what he did on the river and 2) if the board paired I would have probably got paid off.

In the end the guy turned over the straight, he called my raise with [ ] which I suppose is fair enough considering there were three previous callers to my raise so was getting good odds on his money. He left 5 hands later with most of my cash - w*nker!

Once the third straight card comes and he bets out...fold it and try again another day!

The thing is you let him get semi-reasonable odds with your small pre and post flop bets. If one is raising in in PLO, I'm always POT betting to try and take the drawing odds out

IMHO, with trips and a straightening board you have to make a POT sized bet once the flop comes down and make him pay for his draw.

Having said that, at the limits you (and I play at) there are always going to be chasers who won't put down a draw even if the turn had been a brick!
