This guy had been very aggressive since the start and had raised with A9off etc, hands like that. All in all, a typical hyper aggressive Italian player.

as long as you know he can lay the hand down it's a good bluff. if you have him marked as a calling station I wouldn't make the river bet.

He had check-called all the way through, and took ages to call the turn, even going into his time bank. I think I made the right play, just the abuse I was getting from the table afterwards led me to question it...

yeah but who cares about abuse you get from people you are playing against? Must mean you're doing something right I think Smiley

yeah you definately shouldn't of shown it. given the fact he took ages to call on the turn then yeah it looks like he's got A8 or 99 and could probably lay it down. however i still don't like shoving on that club. what if he had a pair with a flush draw?! A8 of clubs probably thinks a while before calling on the turn. but i guess if you're gonna overplay AK on the flop you might aswell overplay it the whole way through aye Wink

Thats what I do in Deep Stack tourneys, best way to play them, IMO. No point in getting involved with marginals early, as the fish in there will always call you and you get screwed over.

Yukk. I cant see many hands he is check calling with that you can beat on the club river. You are not going to bet massive on the river with a big overpair as you would (rightly) be scared of the flush arriving. I you rr preflop and love that board, your river all-in can only mean a bluff.
