At the moment, it doesn't look like this comp is going to start before the Last Judgment, but you never know. It's quite fortunate really, as our mystery updater has encountered train problems and is consequently slightly behind schedule.

In the meantime, anyone fancy a sporting wager on the start time?

I'm going for 2.45pm.

I have 50p with the guys in the media room, one of whom intentionally tried to stitch me up by going for 2.50pm and urging his partner to select 2.40pm. The rascal!

His colleague went for 2.55pm though. He he, justice!

Oh, and before I forget, we have a mystery updater. Chili was unmasked at Broadway but can you guess who is my teammate this time around?

Answers on a postcard, but make sure you scan it and post it here.

is it Mad Marty Wilson, if not maybe Jungle Cat

Just been down to the cardroom for the first time. It's quite a sight and a far cry from last year's segregated mess (sorry, just being honest). However, although the Vic have hurled themselves into the 21st century with a nice spacious cardroom, they still have those ruddy 3-cornered tables - a blogger's nightmare!

Meanwhile, I managed to locate a few more familiar faces:

Mike Ellis
Age Spets
Marty Smyth
Henning Granstad
Johnny Lodden
Gary Jones
Liam Flood
John Tabatabai
Harry Demetriou
Mickey Wernick

Greetings u lot, omg what a nuts morning.  I HATE GNER....On another note I have arrived to save the damsel errr I mean Snoopy who actually is not in distress and quite chilled.  I swanned into the absolutely buzzing new Vic cardroom and got straight to work nabbing the camera of Snoops and snapping away.

A wonderfull player list has just landed on my desk that is located right in the doorway and the official number of players today is 178

The new cardroom has an entire wall made up of mosaics, and each tile is the picture of a poker player - how glorious.

Can you spot any players??
