Yoohoo.

Whilst Chili sorts out her hotel arrangements, it's up to me to keep you entertained till she arrives, but with just my personality and sharp wit in my arsenal, things aren't looking to promising.

There's a serene atmosphere here at the Grosvenor Victoria today with the majority of players opting to remain in bed until the very last minute instead of joining us press peeps as part of the turn-up-an-hour-early club. I suppose with everyone staying in hotels just across the road, they can trundle in whenever they please without really worrying about traffic or any other such hold-ups.

However, as with all other days this week, it'll suddenly become hustle and bustle with the bar adjacent to the cardroom transforming into a hotbed of eager beaver poker enthusiasts at around 12.45pm. And they'll have good reason to be excited too as not only are they playing for the prestigious honour of following in the footsteps of Vicky Coren as the London EPT Champion, but there's also the small case of £611,000. Think about all the blonde merchandise you can purchase with that!

That accolade seems most likely to be heading in the direction of Wolverhampton's Surinder Sunar, who, after triumphing in a meatalicous set over set versus nut flush draw encounter, ended the night with a rather eye-watering and wife--going-shopping-inducing 403,400, almost double of that of Ben Grundy in second.

If ever there was a player who you'd require a crowbar to prise chips off, it would be Surinder, so perhaps this could be the week he adds an EPT title to his ever-increasing list of achievements.

Snoops wish Josh good luck from me. A pic would be good and if you can find out what part of Aotearoa that would be cool too.

Thanks - and I agree with Dana that you could probably get away with a Gavin Griffin style hair makeover. (Or just do the beard ;-) )

Good Aternoon peeps, no one panic.  You will NOT be stuck with Snoops only this afternoon for I have arrived!  Its a wonderful dreary, rainy cold day in London so I for one is mighty thankful to be indoors watching 40 poker players go at it.  Im off to check out the players pre start and hopefully be able to shove a camera in their face and steal a table list - there has been a redraw for today so all change.

My 3 picks:

Surinder Sunar (course)
Phidias Georgiou from Cyprus (we might be related u never know)
Anthony Lellouche

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Well, with 40 players left, it looks like our press passes have become surplus to requirements as the TD asks all press to exit the playing area and watch from the barrier. I'm severely hoping that it was just while they were debagging and counting out chips, but it wouldn't surprise me if we are now obliged to stand with the spectators and fight our way through.

As I departed the cardroom, it looked as though cards were ready to fly.

My apologies for not answering this inquiry yesterday, but with regards to the rumour that someone was marking the cards, that is indeed true. According to my source, there were in fact two tables where the deck was changed for being marked, one of which I believe was being surveyed on the cameras. Apparently, the cards possessed small fingernail-like indentations on the sruface and, on one table anyhow, had to be changed at least three times. I don't think they found out who the culprit was, so, as with most situations like this, the villain will probably get away scott free.

Word on the mediavine is that play has been delayed due to a chip discrepancy. The players can't believe Marc Goodwin still has chips.

Okay, I made that last bit up.
