Its a bit crazy down their already, there is actually a barrier/rail for just the Journalists to stand behind, but this will prove impossible to police as the public want to catch a glimpse of the action.  Anyway I like breaking rules, I shall keep trying to get as close as possilble before I grabbed by the scruff of my neck.

They kicked off about 15 mins ago and there was the inevitable swarm of "scribble boks" (the wonderful word I have heard branded about for bloggers) hovering around Eric Friberg.  With the blinds starting at 1,500 / 3,000 and a 300 ante, Friberg with 7,000 wasn't gonna wait for long, especially investing 1,500 first hand in the small blind.

The first hand started with Surinder raising up to 8,000, Friberg choosing THIS was his moment and moving his remaining 5,500.  Florian Langmann in the big blind makes the call for 8,000.  The flop came

  Two Clubs

The two boys check checked

on the turn made Langmann bet 13,000 and Surinder got ou the way,  on their backs and Friberg see's his fate as he is shown    for the flopped pair.  Friberg's  was no good and he has left the Vic first hand and 40th.

Next to hit the deck after the inevitable decking of Erik Friberg was Thomas Tollund, another victim of what could today's the table of death.

Understandably all-in with , an Adidas-clad cap-wearing Tollund stumbled headfirst into the Pocket Rockets of Irishman Alan Smurfit, the bracelet winner's attire and mannerisms directly contrasting to that of his younger Scandinavian foe.

And after the dealer whisked out a board, only the Cowboy on the Turn beaming out any ray of hope, it was a victory ofor the old school with Smurfit looking to match his successes of last Summer in Vegas.

Unfortunately, the cardroom is a tube journey away and there is no access for the bloggers, so it's a case of get what we can.

Richard Ashby is indeed out, pushing with A-Q but being called in two places, one of whom was my pick for the tournament Marcel Baran who eliminated Chufty with Pocket Sevens.

Martyn Reeve has enjoyed a solid start, his 11k bet on a Flop enough to force Christopher Andler to fold. The Welshman rested his chin upon his hands, as if entangled in prayer, so perhaps he was seeking assistance from the Poker Gods.

Meanwhile, we have lost PokerStars qualifier Jasper Joris, who had his love spheres sliced and diced by the meat grinder with Aces versus Jacks, the Pocket Knaves finishing with a rather vomit-inducing flush. Ouch, what a time to take a beat.

Hi
If you get a spare minute, could you please tell Jeff or Brian ( cardroom managers), I wont be coming into work today. Tell them some story about a cold something. Truth is I had a result on Stars last night and really can't be arsed.

Also, any updates on Ken "no bruff, no win" Wong, will be much appreciated. Not only is he the best Tournament player at the Vic, he is also the nicest guy in the place.

Shane Reihill has just been eliminated. There was a ferocious crowd of onlookers surrounding the table, and they were rather reluctant to let me see the hand, but through a slight nook of sweaty bodies I did spot that it was 8-7 vs. K-8 on a board with two Kings. Pretty decisive in the end.
