hi, recently just came 6th in the eventpoker.co.uk barnsley event with 9 of us left and the top 7 getting paid i was chip leader as anyone else would i bullied the table until this hand...
PREFLOP
i pretty like playing hands like these especially seen as though i was chip leader, the blind were 4000 8000 so 12000 available every hand i had about 160000 in chips so i raised it up to 20 k
Gets to the small blind he calls me. So i thought ok i have position on him and a nice chip lead at this point i had about 145k left he had about 100k left
FLOP

I knew this player want that strong as he hesitateed to call preflop he checks i bet the minimum 8 k to look suspicious, he calls
TURN

He checks again, so i bet 8k again, he hesitates then raises 35k at this point i was thinking i can push him off so i called immediatly trying to show i had a king or a strong pocket pair he shook his head when i called so... ur guna think the same as me i think that he isnt strong at all or is on a draw any way to the river...
RIVER

So that means there was a flush out but i doubted he had this calling on the flop any way he checked again so i bet 35k about 75k in the pot he takes about 10 minutes to act then he calls he shows  so was i doing anything wrong or was it just bad play you tell me?Huh??

the main problems i think are the size of ur bets. why r u only betting 8k on the flop and turn. theres 48k in the pot on the flop and u bet 8k giving him 6/1 on his money. this screams weakness. somewhere along the lines of 30k would be better to try push him off.

Nothing wrong with trying to push him off on the flop and giving it up if you meet resistance. I don't understand your "I want to look suspicious" routine and if I were him I might be thinking you were on a draw. If you'd previously slow played strong hands that were shown down I might revise that opinion. I think it's 50/50 whether I'd call you on the river.

Fancy play syndrome!

The problem with trying to be clever is that you are relying on someone else being on the same wavelength.
In most cases you are much better just playing straightforward - people are much more likely to do what you want them to do.
