Thomas Wahlroos is doing well on about 20k.
Also I found Ramzi Jelassi, doing a little less well on about 5k.
Also on about 5k is Jeff Lisandro.

Meanwhile no change for Michael Martin and Chris Bush, sitting on 4k and 8k respectively.

Richard Ashby has lost a pretty big pot against Mateyboy's pocket jacks on a board, but is still doing fine on about 12k.

Across the room, Katja Thater is not happy after her raise to 600 preflop was met with a reraise to 2200 by a gent two seats to her left and she folded.

Can you keep a look out for Dean Plumley? He qualified to play through my site so will be attired accordingly (well, he'd better be lol!).

You updating is keeping me awake through some nice delays in an airport.  Isn't wifi great?  And wonderful pictures, especially Lisandro and Marcel Luske... I will be refreshing when I hit the ground in the UK too.  Gl to Ramzi and Sebastian, Roland dW and Spherical Matt, among others.

Dana, I told you the buffet was generously proportioned, did I not?  Enjoy something covered in whipped cream for me.

Thomas 'the Eggman' Wahlroos chip height of 20k can pretty much be explained by one hand. He had Aces, found a caller with Ace Seven. The flop was A-7-x. You do the math(s). (The 's' is optional depending on you being in Europe or the states).

Johann Storakers was given a full double up by Christophe Defforey, the former pushing for his last 7,275 into a 10k pot on a board with and getting called by an unlikely sending the Scandie up to around 25k. Thewy, on the same table managed to double with Queens against Kings.

gobboboy here filling in for gobbomom.  Ansky/Dani Stern is out.  Guy shoves unimproved AK on 972 board with no flush draw against Dani's QQ, he snapcalls the shove and guy sucks out.

Tales of the shortstacks now...

Andy Black is on about 4.5k, and was attempting to get members of the press to bring him food. He was failing.

Roland De Wolfe meanwhile is sitting on a 2k microstack, periodically looking around the room like he wants to leave already.

Americanwatch now.

Michael Martin has doubled up off of Chris Bush with Q-J on an x-x-J-J-x board - he's now on around 8k, while Chris is down to about 6k. Here they are, Michael looking very attractive indeed now that he has chips, and Chris looking longingly at his neighbour's stack.

The big stack on their table is Voitto Rintala, with about 25k. He knows how to stare an opponent down.

Found Mark Vos chatting to Roman Yitzhaki on the stairs. I asked if he was out, but he is apparently not. Still on about 4.5k, he is demoralised owing to a gent on his table who may or may not be Theo Jorgensen continually outplaying him, and doesn't want to play any more. "I'm putting out a hit on him," says Mark.

Roman however is cheerful on about 15k. I tell him that someone on here has being enquiring after his progress. Says Mark, "It's a hot chick." I say, it could be, I really don't know. Wide-eyed, Roman says, "Seriously??" So Mr or Ms TheReader, if you are indeed a hot chick, you may be in with a chance...

Yes yes, the wonders of wifi never cease to amaze! Happy flying to you, I'll see you in a week or so, unless I'm too fat to get on the plane on the way back. Did I mention that sandwiches have also appeared in the press room? I'm going to die of happiness.

Matt, is this your guy? If so, he's on around 8k at the moment.

Ram and Dave, the former with a dispassionate look on his face despite just taking down a 6k pot with a 3k bet on the river of a board

Last years highest placed Brit here was Peter Gould, but he was just forced to pass to Catlady's bet on the river here.

Patrik Antonius just added another 10k or so to his stack. Sometimes it can be easier to read from the rail whether someone is weak or strong but with Antonius, I don't think anyone knows when he's strong or not. After an midposition limper Antonius for 200 tried to raise to to 1,200 but it was counted as a string-raise and he could only make it 400. After a few minutes discussion with the TD and the big blind coming out in support of Antonius saying he'd been able to get away with the same thing earlier on a different table.

Anyway, the big blind and limper both called the raise.

Flop:

BB checks, limper bets 1,200, Antonius calls and the BB folds.

Turn:

Limper checks, Antonius bets 2,600 and the limper calls.

River:

Limper checks, Antonius bets 7,600, the limper calls quickly. Antonius quietly says, "Straight," flipping over to take a 22k pot.

Andy Black, Annette Obrestad and John Kabbaj are all OUT. (The last of these running into Aces two hands in a row). Also MIA is Dani Stern who is no longer in his seat.
