I like the font on b,d and e - looks more professional to me. However I from the posts in the past that the silhouetted women is a bit dodge - so I voted for B... but i don't think its perfect. Do we need a blonde wig? Anything with that colour in it would do?

In fact thinking about it, I don't reckon any of the options are the one Sad

load of use I am.

Anyone else vote for hidden option X - "we need more logo prototypes!". Get working guys!

I've been lurking for a while as I don't have much to say so here I go with my inaugural post.

A logo needs to convey the values and identity of the website - what it does and why it does it
Why is it called blonde ? What does it mean to be part of blonde ?

I'm no expert on branding but I think that the image of a female is confusing the identity of the logo when it surely derives from Dave Colclough's nickname. It also slightly obsures the reverse image of the spade which links it to poker. So if you create a symetrical unisex hairstyle it means that you see both the blonde image and the poker image equally. I also think it is common enough to break the domain name over 2 lines without confusing people into thinking that there should be a hyphen in it but the .com part should be emphasised equally instead of faded which might be hard to replicate on other branded items. So I think the logo should be more like this. (I apologise in advance if I shouldn't have modified the picture you put up but I am rubbish at drawing on a computer.)

Thanks for that help Eazyrider.

Oh, & welcome to blonde.

We really welcome feedback, good or bad, on the design.

as you seem to be a bit techy, do you know how I can fiddle the voting so that "A" wins? I've got the keys to the cupboard, but I don't know what knobs to press.

Sorry I'm more qualified to be tetchy than techy. I'm self taught on computers but I've studied corporate strategy and brandng, and I've read a lot of books. The simplest ideas are best and it needs to be an image that conveys what the site is about in an instant  It works similar to an optical illusion. Below do you see a musician or a girl's face. Do you see blond or poker or do you see blonde and poker

So out of the 4 designs I would vote B but I think it would be better if you modify it a bit.

IMO logo A is tacky, cheap looking, out-dated and unprofessional.

I agree. I don't think it would suit the new slicker webpage designs that agon posted earlier.

I am louthed to bring this observastion up, as i'm afraid its in very bad taste, but as its important in the discussion of Blonde logos, I have to mention it.

If you log into Blondepoker.com then frount page comes up, then you press the blondeforam prompt.
the page opens on a rather inappropriate place on the black shadowed girl.

On my computer the right hand border of the foram page lines up to the right of the bust of the logo.

Thus changing the view from a shadowed profile of a full side view  of a woman..... to a rather vulger view of a pair of womens legs in a very riskay position.

If the image currently used, gets repeated on other promotional meterial. I can see that some joker will arrive with part of the logo obscured in order to reveal a more tastel;ess image.

I noticed this anomilie sometime ago, but have not until this time felt any need to mention it.

I would hate the image of blondpoker to be compremised in any way.

Thanks guiys - this is EXACTLY why we've asked you. Well-intended criticism is a GOOD thing, & we will be better for it. We are listening. I asked my co-shareholders to stick with "A" - I'm happy to admit - well, no, sad to admit - I am out of step, & tht one is now looking unlikely. Don't forget what we said, though - we need it to be suitable for "branding" on shirts, caps, & other stuff too.

I was going to keep my thoughts to myself but given your post tikay I have to say adopting B would be a huge mistake, I think.

i) It may be politically correct/safe but it is a design travesty. It will look rubbish on everything.

ii) A. may be risque but it taps into all the history of the kappa brand and is mch more of a t-shirt/clothing logo.

C. is the best design in my opinion, but i like that kind of typography, A is a classier look.

but none of the above may be the smartest answer for now.

Eazyrider,

When I first looked at that pic I saw a bloke playing a sax!

I see what it is now!
