Meanwhile, I did spot Danny Rudd, and a photo will indeed be on the way shortly. The Ruddster, or UpTheMariners as he more commonly known on the blonde forum, is currently on the 8.5 to 9k mark, so he's still there.

lol @ the ruddster. i just txt him his new nickname. but where is this photo!!!

What photo?

The players are about to take a well-deserved din dins break. Whilst Dana and my good self fight off all these poker athletes in the buffet queue, please entertain yourselves with this amusing photo of Michael Greco reading his own article, 'The Soap Box'.

I hope this isn't the first time he's read it.

Back soon, hopefully with some fascinating dinner time anecdotes to retell with all the enthusiasm I can muster.

He obviously needs to brush up on his head-butting technique...

Apparently, this old fellow is a bit of a card. At the start of the comp he teased dealer Liz by saying, "I might need you to talk me through some of the rules," to which Liz replied, "Sure, no problem." "Also," he continued. "I'd appreciate it if you could tell me which hands I should be raising with."

Smiling, and not quite knowing how to respond, Liz ran to cardroom manager, and partner, incidentally, Zak to ask for advice. At this point, Zak was in stitches, and revealed that Mr Arnold hadn't missed a hand in the Vic for the last 30 years and probably already knows how to play.

Trigg is a genius. Outside for a fag break, Rick comes up to me waving a giant bag of pick n mix - he'd wandered over to the cinema across the car park, which is something that hadn't occurred to any of us whining for candy in the press room. Now I too have a giant bag of empty calories. Mmm.
