Greetings all and welcome to the Day 1B live update thread of this year's Blue Square Grosvenor Grand Prix, the highlight of the Pot Limit calender.

There were a few late satellites, but this is the most recent list we appear to have, so if you'd like to (1) scour through the list for the Day 1Bers and (2) pick out any names that you would like us to follow, then please feel free to do so, although give us an early shout as players change ever so quickly in these shindigs.

Until tomorrow, toodle pip.

Great updates yesterday you two!  Look forward to another long day of getting nothing done around here while I keep up with ye.

I'm quietly wishing the best of luck to a few.  Have a huge Lady of Fatima statue arriving tonight (kid you not, but that's another story...lol), so surely that will count for something while we're cheering you on.  You know who you are, but I don't want to jinx ya by mentioning names.

No Henry to cheer on today, but if you could keep me updated with some of the Taff contingent I'd be much obliged snoops!  Well done to you and dana on your excellent coverage and image-finding abilities yesterday - Gave me a laugh.

Batchelor hand, anyone? (Can't wait to see the images you come up with for that one Tongue)

Looky looky, just to prove that we're not fabricating these updates from the comfort of our own bed (so warm!), here's a piccy of the cardroom in de-bagging stage.

I've just been out onto the floor and can confirm that debaggement is officially over and that play has commenced with blinds at 25/50.

Game on, as they say in the darts.

Unfortunately for both bloggers and viewers alike, a few mischievous gremlins have entered the system here at Walsall and somehow compiled a player sheet that in no way corresponds to the seating order the players are actually positioned in. Eek!  Shocked Whether the computer has gone bananas of its own accord, or a member of staff pressed the big red "Reshuffle: Don't press me!!!" button I'm unsure, but either way, it looks like its going to be a fun day of tapping people on shoulders and requesting their names in that pestering manner that you'd hate to be on the receiving end of.

In other words, I'm going to need player descritions of Daniel Rudd, Jonny Pescod and any other requested folk that I don't already know in order to locate them.

As always seems to be the case, it doesn't take long to experience our first exit, and that unfortunate wooden spoon man is G Grime who exited with mumbles of Kings versus Queens. I'm no Miss Marple, but my guess would be that those darn Ladies had a threesome somewhere on the board to send Mr Grime packing. Still, he gets £100 for his troubles. Only in the World Series can you come 200 and something and still go home with a cash prize.

Hi everyone! I'm afraid we have no player list today. I mean, we do, but it looks like someone accidentally hit the Randomize button or today is musical chairs day or something because no-one seems to be sitting where the player list says they should be. This is a shame because I've seen some huge pots already and I have absolutely no idea who was involved in them. Sigh. Welcome back, Mateyboy. We've missed you. So for the time being I shall just tell you that I have witnessed Mr Paul Parker, resplendent in pink paisley number, take down a pot with a bet of 700 on a two spades board. I have also had a slightly depressed-sounding Willie Tann dolefully enquiring as to when there's going to be a break, not 10 minutes into the first level. I feel for you, Willie. I really do. I have also witnessed the astounding spectacle that is Rick Trigg's barnet. Photos very, very definitely to follow.

And we're another man down, this time the recipient of the door shutting behind him is Ben Dong (I was so hoping his first name was Ding). With Richard Ashby betting the streets of a two hearts board, including the River where he pushed all-in for around 3k, Dong made a reluctant call only to be shown a superior (I imagine, he mucked) pair of Queens. Doesn't seem massive, but it was good enough to send a disgruntled Dong hurling over to the rail.

It's not massively obvious in this photo, but what he appears to have done is let it grow free, then slicked it back and pinned it away from his face with an alice band. Awesome. Just awesome. In the original sense of the word.

Even if his surname was Ding, it would be amusing....
