Sky+ to youtube

Ok - I want to transfer something from sky+ to you tube. I do have a dvd recorder but I dont know how it works or how to transfer stuff from sky+ to the dvd.

Is it possible, if so how do I do it, should I ask my neighbours 5 year old son to do it for me?

First record it on Sky Plus and then record to a dvd. To do this is very easy providing dvd recorder is set up properly. You just play the sky plus clip/show and then press record on the dvd recorder.
Next you need to convert the dvd using software that you can download. I have used

This is only free for ten days or something like that. It has actually carried on working for me, but is very slow.
Hopefully you will be ok on this but, but if struggling let me know.
Ok now you have converted the disc, you need to go to Windows Movie Maker and import video. This can take some time, but again hopefully you will work this out. You can now play around with the clip and edit it the way you want.
Now "save to my computer"

Next go on Youtube, assuming you are a member (if not, sign up)
Then upload your video.

Yes, this is a better long term solution. But I wouldn't say it's an easier one off solution...
