Matthew Stevens is OUT in a real...

moment.

He had Aces against Simon Rimmer's Aces... and got 4-flushed.

Julian Gardner is another amongst the chip leaders, he just knocked EPT London finalist Paul Mendes with vs on a Two Diamonds board.

The players are on a 15 min break at the minute and I like to take that chance to catch the players streaming out of the card room all simultaniously whinging and crying out their worst stories of the last 2 hours.

Jack's in fact was pretty unlucky.  He was sitting quite nicely on about 45,000 when he found K's.  There was a raise ahead of him already, so he repopped it.  Sadly Simon Rimmer was looking down at AA at the time and pushed for about 12,000 total.  The original raiser passed (JACKS) and Greek Jack didn't particulary like how the action went but said "how come you even know and you still call?"

So call he did and Jack down to circa 30,000.  Still a good stack though and more than playable for Jack.

Sam Trickett has a little less to smile about as just before the break he took a bit of a hit from Sunny Chattha.  In a pot that should have had Sunny out and Sam on 45,000 instead leaves the Retford lad on 17,000 instead.

On a flop of

Sam holding    for the nut straight leads out with a bet, Sunny reraised and Sam went all in.  Sunny showed  for the two pair which Sunny joyfully rivered a 10 for the house and a lifeline in this tournament.

C K Le has just been involved in a all-in preflop battle with the against David McCrone's

Board:

three clubs

Le up to about 12k, McCrone now short.

Chris Bruce has also doubled up, checking his Jacks on a J-T-7-4-K board twice to get Nicholas Risdale to pay him off, which he duly did with a turned set of Fours.

On a Two Diamonds board, Mickey Wernick raises Maurice McCarthy's 1,050 bet to 4,000. The Worm's rock solid reputation serves him well and he gets a fold from the opponent.

Pete Linton gets a cheeky double up with against Des Jonas' , the board coming two hearts .

Matt Myford has been crippled by Keith Littlewood, his Kings coming unstuck by Ace Ten which hit one on the flop and another on the turn.

Paul Gourlay is OUT and 'off for the long drive home' after his A-T was no good in a limped pot, the board was A-7-6 with two suits, and Paul pushed but was called by 6-5 which had a pair and a flush draw. The latter missed the flush but hit his 2nd pair and the Geordie/Leeds lad is off back home.

Evening all and snoops.

Strummer and Jeff out already?!?! Sad

I'm giving this one a miss, too hard a place to get to from here and I need a little rest.

Rgs

Manuel.

PS - Snoops careful not to leave your laptop alone Smiley

Sorry, I got the wrong Jeff who was knocked out, it was Jeff Burke, Jeff Duvall was still in last time I checked. Apologies.

One player who has gone is Pete Linton, K-2 against A-Q.

Le, has built on his double up and is around 24k now.

Simon Rimmer and Burnley John were just involved in a...

10k in the pot, Rimmer bet 10k on the turn of a Two Clubs board and after much sighing and a general body language that says, "I know I'm behind but I really don't want to fold..." Burnley did though, and mucked his .

This pot came hot on the heels of Greek Jack betting a seemingly weak bet of 1,500 into a 5k pot on a which Martino Libertini bumped up to a slightly suspicious 4,500. Greek Jack passed, claiming he had two pair and Martino showed .

Harpit Singh just doubled through Julian Twigg. A standard coinflip. A-Q vs T-T complete with a Barry Greenstein special. (Ace on the River).

He just doubled up with on a K-8-x-A-x board vs A-Q getting it all by the river. I think he has around 10k, though I'll check after the 15 minute break we've just gone on.

We have lost Blue Square qualifyer Wai Yeun who was all in with  against Paul Gardner's  , no help for Yeun in fact Paul made a straight with his J's.

John Bousfield put in his last 2,700 with  called by the  of Paul Gardner.  This time Gardner's hand did not stand and Bousfield made a straight with his Queen putting him upto 5,700.

The very next hand Bousfield raises from UTG to 1,300, Matt Myford next to him who was dented earlier with Kings against A10, pushed all in for another 4,000.  Bousfield made the call, on their backs:

Myford
Bousfield

First card out was a Queen and that's all she wrote for Bad Beat's Matt Myford.

Iwan Jones has increased his stack to roughly 30k now, having just knocked out Harpit Singh with Jacks vs A-8 on an 8-7-6 board.

Andrew Bradshaw has knocked out David McCrone with Kings against Eights while the rather loud Stephen Bayliff has busted Reyaaz Mulla with Ace King against Ace Queen.

Also I saw Alan Mcclean limp re-raise to take down a pot, which got me thinking, that surely this has become a slightly overrated move that everyone is wary of these days. That is unless, you're prepared to also limp UTG with many other hands that you're going to fold to a raise, or limp re-raise with non-premium hands when super deep. Surely your hand becomes better disguised with a standard raise? Any opinions on this?

I think we are coming into the "home or double up" time and we have lost Chris Bruce.  With 11.5k  he pushed with  in mid position and was called by the  of Iwan Jones.  The nines stood up and no more finals for Chris Bruce this time, he will have to do it in the Grand Final instead.

Sam Trickett is also OUT another low stack and pushed with  but ran into pockets Jacks.

Martyn Cavanagh says "Hi" to Sofa-king and is doing good on 36,000

There are currently 60 players left and we heading towards the last hour of the evening and Level 9.

How are the twins doing?

Pete Singleton is OUT. He 3-bet all-in on a 9x Xd board with against I Yusuf who had Jacks.

Dave has roughly 15k, he lost a 36k pot to Iwan Jones on an A-3-7 board, Iwan had been holding A-7 when Dave made a move with 5-4 and missed. To quote the blonde one, "Oops."

Joe Grech is OUT. Rob Sherwood made a call against his push and found his surprisingly ahead of Joe's which was the way it stayed.

Raj Modha has doubled through Marcus Bebb-Jones.

Raj had raised preflop and then bet 1,500 on a board. Marcus c/raised to 4,500 and Raj flat-called with around 8k behind.

Marcus set him in the on the with and Raj quickly called with . No Ten on the river and the Laddies Million Winner doubles through the Grosvenor Grand Prix Winner.

Chris Bruce is OUT, A-4 vs 9-9.
