Xmas tree

OK its an age old question -- but if you do have a christmas tree in your home when do you put it up.
Do you stay traditional and put it up on Xmas eve and leave it up for 12 days
Do you put it up 1st december and take it down 1st Jan
Do you put it up anytime you feel like it and take it down on little xmas (6th Jan)
Or do you not bother -- Bah Humbug

We were walking to school last week and saw people putting decorations up outside there house
I try to leave it as long as possible , hopefully wont be putting anything up until around 2nd week of December .
When we were young Mum put the tree up 12 days before and took it all down 12 days after .

In our family, tradition has always been 12 days before, then take down 12 days after.

When at home, it always used to be about a fortnight before and Jan 6th on the dot, not a day before, not a day after. Living on my own I started off in a similar vein but to be honest I can't be arsed now so I'm afraid it's 'Bah, Humbug' for me.

greatest indicator of "class" or lack of it...not social class but "taste" class..in this country
Do you have Xmas lights/sleighs/inflatable snowmen outside the front of your abode in December?
Vote "yes" for "what a pillock"
Vote "no" for "I retain my sanity"

If I were you Duke, I'd put it up on Dec 6th.
So it's ready for me to throw at Kinboshi when he makes some uber-fishy play at the pre-APAT poker night.

I believe Homebase do a lovely line in 9 or ten foot tall Homer Simpson wearing a "festive" hat that inflates and anchors on your front Garden.... Ideal for making a statement of "I love Jeremy Kyle" and "My IQ is the same as my Shoe size"
Also on sale in Homebase....Ideal for sorting out Homer......Stanley Knifes...

Our decorations/tree go up no later than 2 weeks before Christmas and stay put until Jan 7th. Not sure about the rest of Ireland, but in Cork, Jan 6th is 'Women's Christmas'. We lounge around all day and then head out for dinner with friends in the evening. Pub crawl follows the dinner. It's like one huge hen night and the lads stay out of the way.
