It's all odd anyway.

so, this guy who i used to call my mate has promised all week that id get the cash by friday (today/lastnight) and i can't believe i believed it.Its like a slowroll. If he said theres no way i can get the money then we can discuss diferent options. Now i have a few difficult decisions to make, on how to prceed. the options are;
1) go to his house and kick the living shit out of him [ ] satisfaction [ ] money back
2) inform the police [X] get him hopefull banged up [ ] get my money back
3) get some shady character to collect (33% juice, i.e id get 2k back and lose a grand to said shady character)
4) give him more time to pay back [X] let him talk more BS and think im a soft touch
the bad news about it is that since september ive been puttin half my winnings into a savings account for my new house fund and to get money out its 4 weeks notice (i set the rules) ive got like £500 in my bank and zip in my poker accounts, so not only has he stolen my cash, but stopped me from working as well. Im so pissed off its untrue. If i go to the police then its gonna be another £1k in solicitor fee's etc.. and id have to withdraw money from my savings which i vowed never to do, but it seems the only way now. Ive learnt a serious lesson in this situation. Always keep your personal details personal. I foolishly thought that i could be more blazee (sp) with my details since my freinds were all present, and although i can't legislate for what has happened i must take some of the blame. Im just glad i didnt have $30k plus in the account, as no doubt that would have evaporated aswell.
Ive been out in my local town tonight, where, as you can imagine, news spreads like grass cuttings, people offering to get the money back for £500 etc... or to beat villian up for £200 etc..... i feel if i take up these offers then i will be no better that my ex-freind himself, and two wrongs don't make a right.
Im really at sixes and sevens on how to proceed and any help would be truly appreciated.

its "blasé"
but i must strongly advise you to take this to the police and run it through their channels, if there is a case that can be made the CPS will prosecute on your behalf with yourself as a possible witness - it is a criminal matter and not a civil matter
0 cost to you unless you somehow spunktastically lose the case because you were not telling the whole truth = court costs and a possible perjury//contempt
so make sure all your facts are straight and get to the police asap

just beat him up yourself, he robbed you didn't he?
As for getting the money back he cant magic up money, if he hasn't got it he hasn't got it, if he's owed you a fifty for months your not gonna get this back, forget about.
as for getting the old bill involved thats up to you not really the thing I'd do but its definitely not going to get your money back, people i know who have been ordered to pay compensation for assaults etc just dont bother and just do the 28 days when the old bill finally catch up with you.
Do something though or people will be linning up at your door to rob you nevermind logging into your account when you're not there.
Also it's to do with you and him, wherever he says he's gonna get it from isn't really any of your concern, chasing up his old dear for it is low

i would write him a letter explaining step by step everything he did ,then ask him in the letter what he intends to do to settle debt, asking him to reply as soon as poss as you need to see some of the money soon before things get out of hand, he prob wont answer the letter but if he does he will be admitting guilt in writing, you could then go to solicitor with the letter asking advice on you next move,

does he really have or own nothing you can take from him?
I'm non violence myself but know a few who are not and in these situations they always applied gradual but constant pressure, and they always said that you never get it back until it gets violent (but i'm not advocating that at all).
I was going to say that the selling it on at 33% vig was harsh but he did steal your money after all, if he knows the guy that you know just tell him that he has a month or thats what is going to happen, then at least you could pass it on with clearish consicence knowing you gave him the chance to sort it.

Unless you present real and clear responses to villain that are going to pressure him into making you his #1 priority you are not getting paid.
Either write the debt off now and forget about it or sell the debt to someone who will collect.
