I don't properly know how to play it

I've had endless hours of fun sitting playing live whilst groups of Mah Jongers sit in the far corner of the car-room making a racket, and then going "shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" very loudly at them and watching the look of horror on their faces. Makes me feel 10 years old again!

but on the Arcade, a decent score seems to be 2000 plus, and I'm frustrated. Refusing to google.....so............

what are handy hints and tips to play Mah Jong well please?

Pretty sure that the mahjong in the arcade where you only have to match pairs and try and get rid of all the tiles is completely different to proper mahjong.

Proper mahjong (not that I know how to play it!) is more stategic and complicated.

Think Gin Rummy.

The arcade version is Mahjong solitaire, and as RichEO said it is basically a game of pairs. Nothing mystical or difficult about it but the scores for the top 10 now have to complete in under 2 1/2 mins... something quite difficult to do.

Jen (my daughter) is totally addicted to it, and she is currently the champ - Friends  Cheesy .  Wish I never told her the trick to doing it now!
