He may not look like much, but this is the foreboding image of a talented young lad, Jim McShane having torn up the local scene over the last year with numerous cashes. The Luton regulars will know him, and probably speak highly of his game, but the general public won't, as Jim himself confessed to there barely being any sign of his mug on the Internet. So, this picture is a rarity, and one that we should all be grateful for.

The board changes as frequently as David Bowie's image, but it is currently reading 46 entries, a very disappointing figure indeed and one that surely reflects poorly on the future of festivals like these. Personally, I'd be very sad to see them go, but I wouldn't be surprised if they disappeared from the poker calender come 2008.

alternatively Grosvenor could spend a few quid promoting them properly and they would flourish ... maybe they DONT WANT poker players in their casinos ??

Remember this guy from the blonde bash? If you were there on the Friday night, then you certainly will, his impromptu karaoke performance of Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell being a sight for sore eyes... nope, hold on, a sight for creating sore eyes.
Anyhow, he's a familiar face with the Vic boys, but rarely seen on the UK tournament circuit, so we should be honoured to be in his company this evening. Judging by his current body language, he doesn't seem to be too chuffed to be in mine.

One theory is that they are happy with small numbers due to the difficulty in accruing dealers.

instead of turning this into a thread about whether the festival will live or die can we now get back to what this thread is for and have some news on the 46 that are currently laying a festival event!

Mike Moore is on maybe twice his starting stack after a couple of very exciting hands. His
proved good against whatever Craig Owen (who in my mind is a curious hybrid of Daniel Craig and Clive Owen and thus the Ultimate James Bond, but is in reality nothing of the sort) mucked on the J-5-A-6-K, three-hearts board, bumping up Moore's stack and leaving Mr Owen down to 4 or 5k. Next hand he found himself involved with the delightfully named Terry Mason and also Mr Karim Louis, and was again triumphant with his

Jeff Buffenbarger's A-J is no good against his neighbour's A-K on an x-Q-x-T-x board. "Couldn't you have put that one down?" he whines, stealing his neighbour's King and trying to put it in place of the raggy river. Dealer seems unamused.

I believe this gruesome twosome are neighbours Graham Hiew and
Ben
Turnstill
, the former, I believe, one of the people to come up with visor sunglasses which allow you to see your cards, although I could be wrong.
Anyhow, whilst Graham has dropped down to 7.5k, Rookie is faring much better with what looked like around the 13-14k mark. He's obviously been taught well.
