Can we "chill out" the Gala V DTD stuff please, remember Stanleys and LCI also did their upmost to block our "poker only" venue, Grovesnor barred me from all UK venues, so we should not be singling out Gala. Players do have a choice now, I am over the moon with the club, as are all of the staff, so we have had a happy ending to the saga and its time to move on and work on improving DTD and forget the past. I have always said that there is a market for poker only venues
and
card rooms in casinos, especially Nottingha, and when the DTD novetly wears off, I'm sure all of us can keep promoting poker in the UK.
Of course, we have been very pleased with the support from players, we budgeted to have a total of 100 players visiting the club per night, and we have exceeded that on our first 6 nights, but I am very mindful that things will settle down and outside of festivals, DTD's attendances will be 100 ish - maybe 60 visitors for comps and 40 visitors for cash games and STT's.
Initially we have had an impact on the casino poker attendances, but I do not expect this to continue, everyone likes to visit a new place when it first opens.
Cheers Rob

Ive read the posts regarding Rob's opening success and sincerely hope it continues which im sure it will.
Im very much looking forward to a trip from the remote far north to sample the obvious delights offered to poker players.
I love to play poker live and the only opportubity to do so in my neck of the woods are the casino's which are now trying to give poker players what they want.
However, myself and many others do have leaks relating to those dastardly casino games and I for one would prefer to have this temptation removed from my gaze.
Having such a great poker only club on the doorstep in Nottingham will attract the local poker players who do not want to gamble on blackjack and roulette, but those who feel the urge will im sure find the time and the cash to go play at the gala and enjoy their poker and pit games.
We all have to make choices in our life and I can see Rob's purpose and vision has created what we all want a legit poker palace with a full range of games for all pockets and good tourney structures.
As the voice said "build it they will come" . Rob has and now its up to the poker player to make his/her own choice without chucking any more crap at Gala or punters who want to play there.
Best wishes Rob.

Not a very nice attitude is it. especially from people who have spent the last few years campaigning for variety and choice for poker players.
I wonder if you'd be pleased if the cardroom staff at gala notts all lose their jobs?

Cardroom staff ?
One inspector supervising a self-dealt tourney, and one valet for the whole cardroom.
