Sorry the holiday report has taken so long coming but I am the first to admit I am not very good at write ups.

Where do I start, at the beginning seems the best place I suppose.

The day had finally arrived, we were up packed and waiting outside for the Taxi with our suitcases plus medical equipment. After seeing how tight a squeeze it was to get it all in a Taxi worrying thoughts started to creep in about the hire cars capacity.
Journey to the airport was somewhat speedy, it was during this Grand Prix warm up event on the M62 that  I discovered the break on the passengers side did not seem to work no matter how hard I slammed my foot against it.  Reece was sat contentedly in the back happy as Larry taking it all in his stride, Darren and Stacey either side of him peeing themselves laughing at co pilot moi.

Check in went smoothlyish, a few hiccups but we soon sorted it out. Glad we had a lot of medical letters with us, we had to prove every item was needed which we were taking into the cabin.

Lets jump to the flight.

We had medical seats both legs of the journey, the return ones were fantastic, mega space. We put Reece on his Gastro feed throughout the flight and also carried Intravenous fluids and a pump for if needed, however unbeknownst to us at this point, Reece did not need the Intravenous on the flight or the whole of the holiday. He has coped with just Gastro feeds nightly.

All through the flight Reece sat contentedly playing, coloring  or watching a movie. Not once did he moan, he was such a good lad we were so proud of him. After all it was not a short flight for his first time up there, about 9 1/2 hrs going. We took with us lots of butties and snacks etc as I knew he would not touch the food they sell, this turned out to be just great, he grazed away the whole flight.

Touched down in Sanford mid afternoon and proceeded to collect the car. After being firm and refusing this that and the other we got to collect our Impala, now then 100 f and there we are attempting to break the world record for cramming luggage, pushchair, holdalls and 4 folk into this poor little car. Darren said " nope this just aint going to work" , little did he know that when I have made up my mind it is going in then that's all there is to it, no arguing these cases had me to deal with, and dealt with them I did.

We arrived safely at the house, I had chosen Lucaya Village Resort for it's location and price. Very central to all the parks and walking distance for the Old Town, plus 3/ 10 min walk to many eateries. We only walked once actually as I had the privilege of meeting our first ever Snake right outside the door on our path. My feet left the floor, it was massive. This was just the first encounter there were other snakes that seemed to like our bushes.

The house was just fine, slept up to 10, everything we could possibly need including a laundry room so no dirties were brought home. Happy Days. Walmart just up the road, pool which Stacey and Reece got plenty of swim time in. He loved the pool, thought it was great, first time in an outdoor one. We stuck to the 30 min rule the hossy laid down so as not to get his line infected, although he asked if he could stay in longer he never kicked off when we had to say no.

On to the parks....

We had to collect our tickets at the individual parks, Make a Wish had given us (for each of us) a 3 day hopper for Magic Kingdom, 2 day pass for Universal and a 1 day pass for Sea World.

On collecting them we were given what is called a G A C, Guest Assistance Card, plus a sticker thing for his push chair so that it can be used as a wheel chair. The pushchair was a god send, so was the GAC. We also took with us our Make A Wish badges that we had been sent, these came in very handy.

The GAC card was valid for a fortnight, we just had to show it to the staff at each ride and we could then use the wheel chair access point, however we soon learned that when they saw our badges along with the GAC, we were whisked to the front of every ride and sometimes for timing reasons we were put into a VIP room to wait out of the heat. Even when the characters were out for photos, we were put straight to the front, no waiting at all. Reece would never have coped waiting for hours on end so this was an absolute Godsend. Plus if Reece was too small for a ride we could still use it to get straight on as it saved him waiting for us, not as we did many rides, but it was there if needed.

Well he loved every minute of the parks. One of the highlights was him meeting Spider Man, he got star struck, he couldn't move he went speechless it was so funny. Piccy's to come.

The worst thing we did was to take him on The Tower of Terrorrrrrrrrr. His request but little did we know just how bad it was. It took both Stacey and Darren to keep him in his seat, then when the ride was over he was so shaken he clung to Darren, wrapped around his neck for a good half hour.  It put him off going on the rides really, every time he would need reassurance that it was a gentle ride. Then when he went on a roundabout he sat there not holding on as if to say this is a piece of cake ( or words to that effect).

We went to Busch Gardens and whilst there paid for him & Stacey to do the mini safari. Here's a few pic's to be going on with.

Let me know if the link works, it's the only way I know how to post them without going into each one and re-sizing and I am not that patient. Plus view them as a slide show if you can.

Nope, how bizarre that it has chosen to work with one but not the other, this really is annoying me now. So it seems I can not share with you all the fantastic pics of him Swimming with the Dolphins.

It was a great day out, firstly he went snorkeling, yes you read right, he snorkeled he put on his equipment and away he went. Take into account this fella has never even had a snorkel near him or been in a lagoon, be it man made we know that, but off he went head down breathing like he was a seasoned pro at it. He swam and swam touching all the stingrays and there were lots of them, he just kept on and on swam up to the shark glass and with all the tropical fish, he just loved it. Then the Dolphin swim was just something else. The pictures we purchased of that are great it will bring a tear to your eyes, well it did me.

One day we went to St Pete's beach, Reece waded in right up to his neck, he was in awe of the warmth of the water, again no fear and showed just how this fella is determined to live life to the full.

On the eating front, well, never have we seen him eat like it. We took him out to a breaky buffet, he could not believe he was allowed to just have what ever he wanted and as much as he wanted. He just kept going back and trying more or less every thing at least once. His hay fever was non existent there you see, so his appetite was the best ever. He just loved them buffet's.

Early on in the holiday we went to Long Horns steak house, we had T Bone, Reece ordered cheesy chips, like you do in a Long Horns, however, he was soon tucking into Grandads steak like there was no tomorrow.

I just wish the eating had continued once we got home, he is still doing well but the hay fever doesn't help his appetite.

We are just amazed how well he coped with heat and the amount of stuff we did in them 2 weeks. I think the next move will be having his line out, I have a strong feeling this boy has deified the odds again. I am pretty confident that TPN is no more than a distant memory.

How our lives have changed, almost normal again to some extent, obviously not in the sense that you lot call normal, but to us this is what we could only dream of up until this last year.

Wow, I am so lucky to have Reece as my Grandson.
