£25 freezeout, 78 players we're down to 33 players average stack is around 19k we have 27.5 k after loosing 20k the round previous when your 14k bet on the flop was called by a MUG on a 9 8 3 rainbow board, when holding K 6 - misread his hand and thought he had K 9.
Blinds are 1/2k so its becoming a crapshoot. your in the BB and pick up AJs the mug is UTG +1 and min raises to 4 k, comes round to the button who seems to be calling with any 2 paint. SB passes, the button has about 35k and UTG+1 has around 28k.
I decided I was happy to take what was in the middle so decided to raise, it up by an extra 9k should I have made this more? Or does this seem about right its 3/4 of whats in the pot pot UTG+1 calls the 9k so does the button flop comes down A J 3 rainbow .
This is an insta push right? Or would you get tricky and hop one of them makes a probing bet so you get more chips off them? Do you push and want a call or are you happy to take down the 40k down thats in the middle? this would put you near a final table stack with 33 players left in! With your stack you can start to put pressure on the small stacks at the table and go for the jugular.
What hands are we putting the villains on?

I'd push in, not sure what they could be on, probably AQ, AJ, AK, nice pocket pairs? I'm happy to get it in here though. AA may have tried to slow play, JJ would have raised preflop and 33 either folded or pushed AI preflop too, imo.

personally with the AJ oop and 2 players i would push a pot raise would of been to 17k which is nearly half your stack
anything less than a pot will get called there
pick up the dead chips if you get called you get called but make them decide

Me too I never really thought about the raise as much as I should have, and I agree an A is calling especially with the standard of play in this competition.

This is your intention when you raised pre-flop..... I decided I was happy to take what was in the middle so decided to raise This is what happened..... UTG+1 calls the 9k so does the button So the answer to your question "Should I have made this more?" is easy. Yes! If you are happy with what's in the middle and think you have the best hand then pushing pre-flop is the move that gives you the best chance to fulfill this objective. Why raise less if all you want is to take the pot now? Post-flop....the average stack is 19k and there is a 40k pot sitting in the middle. If you were happy to scoop pre-flop then you should be delighted to scoop here instead, so all-in without hesitation.

i'd make it 9k as a value raise rather than a take down! i don't know if i shove against bad oppo here. would rather put a bet that makes sure the rest goes in on the turn.

Why would you min raise a min raise. If shove and if they fold you increase your stack by 33%, that is huge! This is not a time for a finesse.

Shove preflop and increase your stack by over 30% when they both fold. Making it 9K more makes no sense. If you get called are you check folding every flop you miss having committed almost 50% of your stack?

Shove it in preflop, AJ oop with only a pot size bet back makes postflop so hard to play. As played i shove the flop.
