hi all, hope everyone had great Xmas and even drunker New Year   disco

I've entered a £20 FO at my local club, 32 players (ish)  and i've been asked to help out in setting it up, this was last night.

Now, approx 10 of these players play regular on Thurs night/Sat afternoon, but its £10 winner takes all (I've got an  so i'm all in 1st hand).  They DO have a concept of the game, but they have no idea of multi-table, and one of these guys is running it.

I organised a few tournies there earlier this year and they went OK, but a few couldn't understand why i kept moving just as they were about to post BB, no idea of leveling tables, breaking a table etc. I knew what i was doing and they ran smoothly

What i would like is to print out a tourny structure, starting stack, chip distribution, blind structure (30 min levels - running for 6/8 hrs) paying down to 10th,  then i can give the organiser the printouts so when i sit down i am not constantly being asked to sort out trivialities. During one of my tournies in one hand the board read 9,K,2,2,A and 1 guy couldn't understand why i split it, he had A,Q against A,5     I think today wont run smoothly so me & her wanna sit and play whilst dodging any messy arguments

So if anyone has a link or a printout they could pm me then i would be very appreciated.

Will let you know how it went when i get out of hospital

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

just got back!!!!

28 runners, chips -  5 blue, 5 red, 5 black and 5 green, (100, 200,500 and 1000) we all collect chips from organiser, then sit at tables - 4 tables of 7 players

I ask org what blind structure and blinds start (no-one knew) ? he replies "starts 100/200 wiv 30 min blinds" so i ask if the structure should be changed i.e :- reduce chip value or drop starting levels - i did take up 3 examples of chip/blind structure from site advised by Eck.  He replies with "f*ck off tex, we do this every week, dont get involved" - see my 1st post

couple of more players question this so he changes it to 45 min blinds and the game begins :-

during the tourny my table was OK, but as players got knocked out on other tables it was a case of "smallest stack moved" - regardless of position

After a while there was 4 players at my table, 7 players on another and 6 on the other. My GF tells org that tables should be levelled - to which everyone else in comp says "ye, there's only 4 players on that table"

solution in my eyes - move next BB from big table to my table so we have 6,6,5 - AM I WRONG ?

Believe this folks, this is what happened - he came over and dealt us one card each - 2 highest cards went to one table, 2 lowest cards went to the other table - i tried protesting to no avail, i'm sure this isn't right

Not a bad beat story but i eventually went out with  9,9  against A,J (J on river) but to be honest i had started playing very loose after seeing what ppl were calling on and in my opinion it was very poorly organised/run.

The landlord had asked me to help out with this as i had held tournys there before, and i posted on here for help and got much appreciated replies, but was fobbed off by the organiser because "they play every week"

lol. merry xmas Adam

sounds like a nightmare Tex, in fact it sounds like my 1 and only experience of pub poker. it's a shame that something that could be so good is ruined in some cases by having organisers who know nothing about tournament poker

with 17 players left there is no reason to be playing on 3 tables if the tables hold 8 players so splitting the table was the right thing to do

moving the short stack is an old way of doing it and AdamM swears it the right way to do it while most of us think it should be moving the guy with the biggest mouth to give everyone else a chance to get rid of there headache

Pubs are good for beer and pub quizzes.  Poker in the pub isn't my cup of tea.

Especially if Iron's involved...

looks like your math is as good as your spelling iron  2 x8 is 16 so with 17 left 3 tables are needed 6 6 5
