i have a bet with a poker player to lose 4 stone in 14 weeks, pretty big bet.
not really poker related but any advice???
I can remember reading a grub smith column wher he bought a treadmill and fixed his laptop at the end of it so he could run and play poker at the same time. This could obv be done with a exercise bike, etc.
The cheaper version of this is to download some poker e-books from i-tunes or similar and go for a jog.
As for how to lose the weight, no idea!

Safe weight lose is 2 pounds per week. You've got to lose double that. If I were you I would stop eating carbs apart from tons of fruit and veg. get a fitday.com account and work out how many calories a day you can eat, eat 5 or 6 small meals a day, read all the berardi nutrition articles, read up on how boxers cut weight for a fight, you can lose a lot just from getting rid of water weight. do shit loads of exercise. no alcohol LDO.
the 2p2 health and fitness forum has threads on this, also a thread in the EDF by some guy who lost 200 pounds is worth a read.
You are possibly putting your health at risk doing this.
Good Luck.

Unless you are massively overweight I would have thought losing 4 stone in 14 weeks may be detrimental to your health. But thats just my thoughts.

Take down a decent sized/decent buy-in tourney (Like the stanley national championships thingiemejig ..maybe even a GUKPT) and get myself some seats to the WSOP on stars so that I can use the cash to go over and play some cash games during the WSOP
Really start working on my PLO cash again..I'm ok now but could do with some improvements to make it a bit more profitable.
Learning a new game properly..probably 7-stud or superstud

Primary - to win over 5 figures this year (2008) playing low level cash.
Secondary - to play live more regularly, probably the £75 freezout on Fridays at DTD my regular haunt

No advice but if anyone wants to make a similar wager with yours truly, I really want to make a stupid bet that I can lose a couple of stone. Poker added this weight to my midriff, its only fitting gambling can take it away.
Anyone wanna lay me odds? If I lose I can pay you in cash or pies.

To play more hands, laziness is definitley my biggest leak, along with a bunch of smaller ones.

weight lose prop bets over the internet are like playing 3 card monte in oxford street, you can probably lose a stone in 2 days if you stuff yourself full of water for the weigh in and then sweat it all out. you can lose 2 pounds having a dump. you could have 4 or 5 pounds of food in your intestines, there are other ways of "cheating" as well. Not saying that you would cheat of course just that it's a silly thing to bet on with people you don't know extremely well
