Crikey, this has to be a contender for a caption contest.

Anyone fancy a crack?

The Gavin Griffin implosion is complete, he shoved with Q-5o, was called, and predictably ended up on the rail.

Matthew Hilger has around 17k, he's sharing a table with his fellow author Tom McEvoy, who is doing a lot better with around 50k.

Daniel Negreanu just knocked out a shorter stack with Eights against Fives.

Needing one of two remaining 5's, the flop came out: 9-7-6 and suddenly the short stack doesn't want a 5. Then the turn was a second 9 and now he needs a 5 again, (wish he'd make his mind up) but the river bricks out with the two spades.

This young chap is the barely pronounceable Aurangzeb Shiekh, a big online player who goes the moniker of Ozzy87. He also finalled here two years ago, before being the first player eliminated when his Pocket Rockets were outdrawn by Steve Paul-Ambrose's Pocket Sevens.

I'm not particularly knowledgeable on some of these online megastars, so if anyone out there knows any more about this chap or what his online record is, then please let us know.

Daniel- "Humberto- enough with the sharks already!"

Oh and I believe (if memory serves me correctly) Ozzy87 was arrested when police found him with about 100k in his car trunk, dont know exactly what happened....

Snoopy --

Ozzy is one of the players I asked you to watch for me.  He's clearly one of the best online players ever but is still under 21 so hasn't played in that many live tournaments. He's a very good friend of Michael's.  I'm sure you will hear much about him in the upcoming years.  And regarding the comment in another post about him being arrested with $100,000, he got stopped for speeding on his way home from the WSOP this year....it's not unusual to have that kind of money on you on your way home from Vegas.....especially if your name is Ozzy.

Well, it's pretty much a wrap here, but as they were bagging up, I managed to race in and grab a couple of English counts. One of those was Nick Gibson, currently riding high with 91k, which is no less than we expect from the man known as Gwibbo. The other, I'm afraid, providing rather less satisfactory news, was James Akenhead, the Hit Squadder almost giggling to me that he'd just bagged up 575 after making a shortstack push on the very last hand with K-3 and being looked up by a fellow shortstacker with A-Q. No help, and he's down to the felt, but still planning to make an appearance tomorrow. Who knows, people have come back from less.

As for Isabelle Mericer, I couldn't quite see if she made it through the day. She'd been hovering around her starting stack for almost the entire time, seemingly staying out of the big pots, playing small ball poker and perhaps looking to grind her way into tomorrow's proceedings relatively unnoticed. She was actually very quiet today, when often she can be more chatty, so maybe she is focused on her game more than ever. Either way, ariston, it looks like I owe you a tenner. I'll be sure to keep you updated on her progress tomorrow even if that is the case, although I shall pay my debt reluctantly.  Cool

Ozzy: a super awesome high stakes player. Youngest player to final table a wpt ( 2006 PCA, 19 yrs. old- took 6th)

Ozzy was pulled over on an eastern Arizona street, driving his new BMW sportscar recklessly, at speeds up to 80mph on deserted streets. It turned out he was a bit stoned, too, testing positive for THC. Worse, police searching his vehicle found a duffle bag with over $51,500 in cash, a joint, a grinder (a handheld gizmo for crushing marijuana buds), and his brother's Pakistani driver's permit. It also turned out that he'd been using that permit to sneak into Vegas casinos (minimum age 21) to play high-stakes cash games; it was on his return from Vegas to Texas that he was pulled over.

Crikey, my teenage years really were boring.  Cheesy

Thanks for that Gobbomom. This tournament, although officially a part of the EPT Tour, is brimming with American players that we don't necessarily have all the relevant information on. We've been trying our best to get up to scratch on some of them and post photos of various American players who are doing well, but we also appreciate it when posters offer any additional details they have on these guys. Many thanks to The Reader too, we'll be sure to keep an eye on Michael Martin's progress tomorrow, he seems like a top lad.

Thanks for all that "specific" information Gobbomom.....if I was Ozzy I'd be thrilled that you posted all of that.

Thanks for that. I think the most beneficial advantage is that viewers can literally ask for anyone in the tournament and we'll do our very best to find them,  take a photograph and grab a chip count, whatever their nationality and whether they're a big name pro or a first time amateur. It's very dependent on whether we have a player list, to be honest, but it should become easier now for Pokerstars to compile one for the remaining days as they don't have to worry about last minute buy-ins messing it all up. Also, I often forget some of the players I've been ask to follow, and when they move tables, I seem to lose them and need a reminder to keep a track of them. Again, if we forget to follow a player, feel free to poker us as a form of reminder. I think Michael Martin and Gobboboy are both etched in our minds now though, so will always get a mention.  Grin

You all do such an amazing job.  It's so hard following the EPT events but you all make it so easy and go out of your way following people for us.  When Michael was playing in the Master Classics of Amsterdam, I don't know what I would have done without the updates from Dana and Maria.  I just wish you could come and cover some of the American events as well.  Thanks again.

Okay, that's all, folks, for today (as a certain bacon producing animal would say), so we shall have to love you and leave you until tomorrow.

We'll try and start a thread before bed time, so keep an eye out for that and be sure to post any requests early doors so we can identify them before they change tables.

Chip counts will go up as soon as we receive them, but for now, Floppy and I have a media comp to play with a $300 up for grabs (woohoo). We'll let you know how we do, I'm feeling veeeeeeeeery aggggggggggressive.
