Enchantment? Enchantment!

Here we go again, and like Bill Chen on the dancefloor, we shall be an unstoppable force when it comes to getting you updates on the players today. Last night was a bit of an odd-one as I ended up in the club Allure alongside some of the Pokerstars people as well as Kara Scott, any preconceptions that I had that this was going to be a Vegas-style club with stupid dress-codes and hugely expensive drinks were proved to completely wrong correct. To top it off, the 's idea of mixing records was to play both tracks incredibly loudly and hope you didn't realise when one track was suddenly turned off. Sadly however, having seen the state of some of the patrons who were on the dancefloor, my request for Kanye West's "Gold Digger" was unfortunately turned down.

Play will begin at 12pm (5pm UK time)

Here are the chip counts from yesterday, note the name in 2nd place currently, Steve Paul Ambrose, actually won this event a couple of years ago.

Having spoken to Mad, we think he's out too and that this was a mistake. I don't remember him being that chipped up, so assume he's out for now...

Howdy ho, peeps! The good news is that we have started, and Floppy is currently thick in the battlefield player spotting and checking out the early action. I, meanwhile, have been entangled in a pit of confusion with the quite splendid Humberto Brenes as we and try and break the language barrier down. My English isn't great at the best of times, and, having spent less time in the US than people think, his grasp of the English language isn't as good as the rest of his family and many of the players that tour the circuit.

However, he really is a top chap and has a lot to say when you pull him away from the razzmatazz of top flight tournament poker. He still maintains that bubbly personality that we see at the table, but instead of flashing the sharks in my face like a mentalist, he knows when to be serious. During our 30 minutes or so of Parkinson-esque chat, we discussed a variety of topics ranging from life on the road to players he genuinely admires in the game to what he thinks about the current state of modern day poker. We even spoke about those infamous sharks and whether or not they are part of a long-term strategy of his game. It really was a very enjoyable interview, but unfortunately for you, you're just going to have to wait till I write it up and publish it on the blonde poker Main Site before you can read it.

We've managed to lose a player in the very first hand over on table 47, Amsterdam Masters Classic winner Trone Eidsvig was sitting there giggling like a schoolgirl as another player told me about the disappearance of the player from seat 3. They'd seen a Q-T-5-2-x board where Mateyboy 1 had bet 2,000 on the river with Queens and Mateyboy 2 had decided to push for his stack with Kings, needless to say he was quickly called, and quickly out.

The big names and the Brits are out in force today...

Daniel Negreanu, in full chirpy hamster mode.

David Williams, in laconic coffee-drinking mode.

Nick Gibson, in 'Don't mess with me, sunshine' mode.

James Akenhead, in 'I'm in the Bahamas and it's raining' mode.

Jeff Kimber, just as I took this photo, I got a text message from someone asking how to play Ace Jack OOP.

TJ Cloutier. Someone give him a gentle nudge please.

Noah Boeken, (showing his support for the Cuban Regime) and Hevad 'The Wrath of' Khan. Both have lost a few chips early on to Martin Wendt.

Bill Edler, Gunnar Osterbrod with Jannicke from Betsson sneaking into the photo too.

Karl Mahrenholz, looks like he lost his lips in the cash game last night.

Greg Raymer, incredibly popular here with the players more so than the spectators.

"Karl Mahrenholz, looks like he lost his lips in the cash game last night."

Is Karl in the Bahamas or is this a twin centre poker tournament, maybe he's frightened of getting sunburnt.
