anyone know how to adjust the brightness of the display on a laptop? it's fine when running on battery but as soon as I plug it in it goes waaaay too bright and is giving me headaches. running vista if that matters

right hand click on background, graphic properties

I have a toshiba laptop and when i hold the FN button and press either F6/F7 adjusts the brightness up/down not sure if other lappies have a similar function?
