Hand 1.

Villain is a smart-arse decent winning player. Overplays marginal hands somewhat but pretty good. 3-bets fairly wide and knows i know this. Also relatively decent in bigger pots. Over 2k he is 25/19/2.7 and deffo fucks about. On another table he felted me earlier with this hand (setup hand1)  just to set context. Pretty sure this was fresh in his mind so wouldnt be expecting him to bluff again. I guess villain sees me as pretty solid generally, whilst capable of big mistakes.

Setup hand 1, incidentally i "know" i should have 4-bet more pre but jhuraultchili was so tight i didnt want to be commited if he pushed. Thought min rr was a happy medium, doh. After his jam i honestly thought he would have got it in with AA/KK v my nit-type rr pre and doesnt play QQ so strong. So put him on big flush draw on this paired board or a pp 77-1010. Oops.

Trouble with QQ.  I didnt 4-bet as i wanted to play a big pot in position and try to use his aggro against him without scaring the bugger off, but pussied out to 1 overcard.

Hand 2 Villain is relative unknown. Ludicrously loose over tiny sample of 400 hands @ 46/12/3.2 but looked at the time to be super passive calling station. Normally i just bang bang bang here and go for 3 streets of value but the way he timed down after calling the flop made me reconsider, so i went for pot control on the turn. Incidentally anyone raise river for value?

Setup Hand 1 (lol)

Your right alex the min rr preflop is not great  as he has to call with 100% of his range. Its a hard spot though given his rep I probably 4 bet to about 110 and fold to a shove but i really im not sure i like it because you are turning your hand into a bluff. Post flop as played is totally standard.

Hand 1

Preflop I think I would just go ahead and 4 bet I prob would call a shove with qq as well against this player. As played i would float the flop and reasses the turn. Im reasonably sure given his 3 betting range this is +ev given he c-bets the majority of that range.

Hand 2

Yes i like the bang bang 3 streets of value. As played i would just flat the river though I think I flat too many rivers, possibly leak?

Problem is a big second barrel is coming on turn. Im thinking sod this i shoulda 4bet big pre/called a shove.

Thats odd i thought you woulda been one for pot control in this spot.  What do you think villains range  on flop?

Hand 2 i take you mean Alex, i think its pretty damn wide given he is 46/12.

Something like 22-99, all nines down to 97,56,a4,64,54,43. Basically these kind of guys will peel one with tonnes of hands hell he might have totally air.

Setup hand 1- If you wanna 4 bet you need to make it bigger
Hand 1- If you are trapping pre passing this flop is really bad
Hand 2- Just bet all 3 streets for value, ignore timing tells against super bad players

if you are varying your 3/4 bet raise sizes as in set up hand are you not giving out information to players who are taking notice?

I would have thought that consistent 3/4 bet amounts is going to be the best way to disguise your hand assuming you are going to be 3 betting light a % of the time?

I know you could use it to your advantage later by looking weaker against an oppo more like to 4 bet all in if he sees you show weakness here (but a decent tight player could exploit it also) but are we not making it to complicated?

Hand 1, I decide on the flop what I am doing and I am probably just going to call him down and let him bluff off and feel stupid which he turns over his K rag
Hand 2, I bet turn and against someone like just keep betting until he tells me otherwise
